One thing that might add a touch more realism is a clear UV resin for the eyes, and maybe the lips; it gives it a wet look that most paints lack, and sets up quickly. I learned of this trick from watching others, like Catmeleon (?) here on KZbin, that also creates figures. Your grasp of Anatomy is AMAZING! I will definitely be checking out more of your videos!

Also give the feet just a touch more thickness through the center/ arch. I watched this sculpture and then I looked at my own foot and my husband's, and I thought... just a bit of instep!

Awesome job! Also, for metallics like a sword does best with a high gloss black base before the metallic. Since metallics are mostly transparent you get the metallic shine and more realistic look.

I love that you mention North of the border. He's one of my favorites. I think that's why you caught my attention. You both talk about the process as you sculpt and add that you know it's not exactly like the character but it's your interpretation of it. There for it's close enough. I love to watch people enjoy their craft as much as I do. Thank you for sharing. Love it.

Man, I JUST had this happen. I come from model horse customization, and I sculpted with polymer clay thinking that, for some reason, it would behave like plastic, wire, and apoxie. I cut things apart and then had to deal with cracks over and over. Knowing your problems are self created? You are speaking directly to my soul!

I wouldn't call the neck and shoulder proportions "wrong". I just bought a model pack for gesture drawing and her neck is much, much........much.... longer then what you got going on and she is a real life human. I've also seen quite a few models with wider shoulders then one would expect. Awesome sculpt! Great job!

The lore you thought of goes hard, but I'd keep the fact that Hornet was trained by Vespa instead of Herra. If Herra's a tyrant queen, she can have Veapa train Hornet while she's busy with ruling. This would create conflict for Hornet in the long run because eventually she'll realize that Vespa was her mother figure this entire time.

I absolutely loved this piece, but the one thought I had was that it could have been interesting to put a Thread Spool in place of the Butt pouch you added. In my mind, it'd make sense for her to use the "Silk" as part of her assassination tools, carrying around the thread as an additional tool, a way to throw her sword and recall it, or maybe even a weapon of its own to choke out someone like a Garrote wire~!

Hey! Tip from someone who paints Mini's: You can shade black. You just, kinda have to fudge it. Make the black brighter than your intended final shadow, and add color into it. The Shadows will then add additional contrast to your sculpture's primary colors; whilst also being more visually interesting!

Don’t know if this is why it happened but a quick tip that using two different materials with different melting points/ reactions to heat is not usually a good thing. Most items will tend to either warp or change size (shrink or expand) when heated, this is okay with one material as it will move in unison but with different materials attached to each other they may change differently causing them to split apart or break. Ps. This can also happen if they cool down at different speeds. Not all materials are going to be as drastically different as this but it’s just a good reminder when using a new substance or a new combination. 😊

Awesome concept and execution. You mentioned in another video that you would love to sculpt in color. Unsure whether you can buy it where you live, but FIMO colored clay that needs to be baked in the oven may be what you are looking for. Though, there are also videos on youtube showing people sculpting things from colored clay that seems to air-dry. Maybe that's better for you, but I don't know what that material is called. For sculpting things separately, I would suggest using cling wrap or plastic wrap as clay usually doesn't stick to that. It's a great separator. And to repair broken pieces I would recommend the 2-part Aves Apoxie Sculpt. For metal parts of the sculpt I would recommend the Alclad 2 metalic paints. They give the most realistic metallic look from all the paints I've seen shown on KZbin. Looking forward to your next creation. And I love how you show your mistakes as well, which many others tend to leave out. It shows people ways to fix those and that even mistakes can help create a better finished piece.

Also, I learned recenlty as well that polymer clay gets weak in the oven, I was doing a wedding topper and the groome’s head fell of 😅. My lesson? Try baking as less times as possible when working with delicate pieces.
