I've been a fan of Artem since their inception. The one problem I have with them is length. They only offer a longer size in their original 20mm strap . When you want to order a 22mm , they don't offer the longer size . I have 7.75"wrist size . They need to offer the longer strap size in all their straps . There's definitely a good market for that longer size.
@MichaelG19862 жыл бұрын
I was going to post this exactly. I have quite a few watches their straps would look great on with 22mm lug widths. I also have a largish wrist - a little over 7.5 in wrists. I'd love for them to do more XL straps. I contacted them directly and they responded "Currently, we are only offering XL sizes in our 20mm straps. If the demand is strong, we will look to expand it to our other straps as well in the near future." Maybe a few more of us larger-wrist guys should contact them and hopefully they'll start offering them.

I have Artem straps. I stick with the pin and buckle. I have all kids of buckles since I have a few watches. But I feel this way, you can’t beat the process of wearing and adjusting a watch that a pin and buckle gives you. Artem straps are the best sailcloth straps for me!! Even the OEM straps that brands offer (with the pin and buckle)! Great video!!

I decided to give Zuludiver's Mayday Regatta a shot over Artem. I liked their transparency with regards to the materials they use. Plan on posting a video review of my own once they come in and i've had a shot to wear 'em for a bit.

I have had their (Artemis) blue sailcloth strap for about 3 months, and it's still not 'broken in' - it's very stiff material. I've tried gently bending it repeatedly but not sure it's going to become flexible enough to where it conforms to my wrist.

Not much of a strap guy myself, but I like the clean simplicity of this.

Bruce, same black cordura strap with white stiching is also available from Omega. I am talking about the one that went with Snoopy 2 (white dial). You can easily get it from any Omega boutique. You can see video of such combo on my modest channel if you want.

I'm a big fan of the Artem straps. The deployant is such a great option - I am a klutz and exactly what Bruce was saying, if I get clumsy with a pinbuckle... I have to send my Chronomaster in for service due to pinbuckle follies. The security of a deployant is so much better, I've never dropped such a watch on the tile floor in a bathroom. 🙂

Bruce - Nice review. I see that you also have the OEM Omega deployant buckle. Do you know if the Artem loop-less strap will work with the OEM Omega clasp? I have one attached to an OEM croc strap and I'm considering this sailcloth strap, but I want to keep the Omega logo on the buckle if possible. Thanks

Nice! Good to have sailcloth options. I had to go with one on Etsy for $75 with an Omega-style deployant clasp (has Omega logos). The Omega logo has sharp edges, so the quality isn’t 10/10. 19mm would be killer

Looks like Tudor deployant clasps, too sharp a down turn for those of us with flatter wrists...love their straps tho, & could be tempted by the RM clasp. Thanks for showing us , Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻

I recently ordered one of these Omega style artems. I already own the Silver Snoopy strap for my speedy, but was actually looking for something similar in solid black without branding for my non-Omega watches. In general though Bruce, I would say that you should try some more non-OEM straps. OEM is great for many things, but leather for example is usually pretty poor in comparison to third party. I'm a huge fan of Delugs for leather straps and also love to go a bit crazy with fully bespoke / custom straps from David at The Strap Tailor. Those will knock your socks off, they are so good.

Unless an aftermarket product is miles above and OEM product, I will always chose OEM. If can afford a $6800 Omega then what’s $600 for an OEM strap? Especially when the quality is better. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy one of these for any Seiko product though.

I'm torn between the hesalite or the sapphire sandwich. The hesalite because it could actually go to the moon and was used on the moon landings. I love the glare it gives 🌙 and the sapphire sandwich because it takes wear and tear better and I like being able to see 👀 the movement the choice is killing me 😅
@ProfessorPesca Жыл бұрын
I got the hesalite and wish I hadn’t. The crystal has some deep scratches that won’t come out with polywatch and overall it just scratches as soon as you look at it. If the Speedy was still in the 2-3k range then maybe, but it’s a serious amount of money now to have something that will look worn so quickly.

Quality is good, however expensive and quite slow shipment. Practically a monopoly without any comparable competition, unfortunately. So if you want a good sailcloth strap, there is nothing much to do but suck it up and pay (and wait).

Unpopular opinion: I do not like their straps. I purchased the loopless variant like on this video with the Omega deployant clasp. Within a week the inside lining of the strap was coming apart and there was fraying at the lugs. Thankfully I was able to get a full refund. Never again. 👎
