I show this to everybody that says the island wasn’t real. He clearly states the island was real. He couldn’t have been more clearer. I don’t get why people think the island wasn’t real.

and there’s still people that think they were dead the whole time. christian literally explains it all. “everything that’s ever happened to you is real. those people in the church, they’re all real.” “everyone dies. some of them before you, some long after you.” “the most important part of your life was the time that you’ve spent with these people.”

Those people watched some of season 1 and came back and watched the finale out of morbid curiosity. People think the “they’re dead the whole time” thing is clever and they’re clever for figuring it out. Try telling them they’re wrong…….

The reason why Jack did NOT fully "awaken" even after his interactions with an awakened Kate & John' is because Jack's journey of immense guilt and personal burden of regret began with his relationship with his father. He resented that his father ever said to him "You don't have what it takes, Jack". He resented that his father called out, from the beginning that Jack's relationship with Sara was rooted in Jack finding purpose and meaning in "fixing things". Jack felt personal responsibility for sending his father on his final, fatal bender after providing devastating testimony that his father was so drunk when performing surgery that it caused the medical mistake costing a patient's life. Jack blamed himself for wrongly accusing his father of having an affair with Sara, which sent him on that relapse that presumably preceded his father performing that surgery while intoxicated. Jack went to Sydney to bring his father back and failed at that...not only because his father had died before Jack got there, but also because he "lost" his father's body and never brought him home. Jack needed to forgive himself and be forgiven for the many "wrongs" that occurred between himself and his father. This is why the scene at the end is so cathartic and powerful and why Jack did not awaken until then.

"Jack blamed himself for wrongly accusing his father of having an affair with Sara," I don't really think that was a significant source of pain for Jack, lol. But I agree

@@LuzJulianna This is ONLY one interpretation of Jack's journey to awakening. There are many viable ones here and elsewhere. LOST did something few shows rarely ever attempt. They killed off all the principals and then did a deep dive into the psychological trappings (what Buddhists and Hindus would call attachments and Christians call non-forgiveness) that keep their "Souls" wedded to their physical identities and all the baggage that comes with that. The sideways realm was where we work through that baggage, our sense of failure in ourselves and towards others. In the end, it's about remembering, forgiving, and letting go...to shed all our worldly attachments and entanglements. It is like a buoyant soul freeing itself of the anchors that have kept it weighed own in mortal existence.

My father passed away 2016 on Christmas Eve. I was there with him and got to tell him I love him before he died, but I always have dreams that he comes back. I've never realized how much this scene is like those dreams I have. I'd give anything to see him one more time.

"The how are you here right now?" 'How are you here?' The impact of that is like a freight train even this long after the show ended. LOST was a god damn masterpiece.

I don’t believe in afterlife and not sure if I want there to be one. But if I’m wrong, I hope if there is one this is how it works……I don’t remember my death, life seems normal until my dad (1969-2015) walks up to me and gently reminds me what happened to me and is there to hug me while I come to terms with the initial shock, fear and confusion. My dad called me “Trouble” but pronounced it “troub-bellllllllll” “Allright, Troub-bell….how’s tricks” Hearing those words over my shoulder and knowing who was standing there before turning would be, to me, what I want to hear more than god himself. Except maybe Tom Cruise, if my dad is busy banging Raquel welsh or something during my orientation day, I hope Tom is there to fill in. He’s the only man that comes close to Dad.

That is all fiction. You want to know what is there in the after life? It is call judgement day. If you don’t want your soul to go to waste, then put your faith in Jesus. He is the only way to eternal life.
