Artesania 1848 Stagecoach - Build 2

Retired and have not built any wooden models since 1970 or so. To kill time I ordered this kit and at first glance I thought I must have been crazy. Anyhow if not for Chris's U tube videos I never would attempted. Before cutting out the hole in the jig to hold the Hubs I first glued Metric Graphing chart on top drew circles and then drilled out hole to hold the Hubs. Also ordered 4mm wide(thin) brass and blackened them first with "Brass Black" and next day finished them off with varnish . Then installed on the wheels

Carl Knudson Retired: I was a part time pro model maker but I picked up several handy hints from you. Thanks. What happened to the series on the artesina Stage coach? I was enjoying it very much and when I got #20, you went away. The instructions are pretty poor with the kit and I was getting a lot from your videos. Will there be more? I will miss your input. Hope you are well and will continue the series. CEK

Hi Carl. Thanks for your comments and concern. I’m fine just had a few life issues that got in the way and a computer that just won’t cooperate so I had to put the build on hold for a bit. I’m itching to get back on it so new videos will follow shortly.

Hi Chris and maybe you remember me my name is Bill Floyd following you along and you're videos on the stagecoach belt. Chris I somehow lost the whole brass fret to the stagecoach kit is there any way that you can give me some pointers or what to do I can use a picture of photo of the whole fret cuz I'm going to have to fabricate what's on there Argentina Latina or must be out of business they won't help me

Hi Bil. I could do a full size photo copy and email it to you. I’ll do some measurements of the thickness. You should be able to glue the photocopy to some brass sheet and carefully cut it all out. The small letters for the coach name will be the biggest challenge but certainly possible

Hi Bil, I have emailed the brass layout for you. I quickly researched Artesania Latina and it indeed looks like they did close down for a bit but from what I'm reading it sounds like they are reopening and releasing kits back into the market. Thank you for considering myself as a friend, always happy to add new friendships :)
