Love this! I have some of those old wooden printing blocks but I haven’t played with them much, now I will! The stenciling works best with a drier applicator, it runs under the stencil when your brush is too wet or there’s too much paint. Still, the fabrics look great with the imperfect stenciling!

Thank you for your video. I do the indian wood block printing and they work better if you have some "padding" under the fabric. Foam such as a piece of yoga matt or some layers of fabric. You can also buy the relevant foam from block printing suppliers

Finally !! Something I know a little bit about -- yay !!! I am an abstract artist, although I haven't painted in over a year -- but this product may be more cost effective for you -- here in the states you can find it in the hardware stores in the paint dept. -- it's called flotrol -- mine comes in a white bottle with an orange label (I know how you love labels -- : ) -- I think it's the same as your medium. Usually those small bottles of medium are around 5 bucks here, and this huge bottle of flotrol is right at 10 -- if you'd like -- I'll pull out my bottle and list the ingredients and you can compare -- this project came out great -- I really loved the large leaf stamp -- gorgeous !!!
@roxycreations6795 жыл бұрын
Maybe it says on your bottle what it's for? Thank you so much!
@patriciabrightwell1965 жыл бұрын
@@roxycreations679 It's a floating medium, is the general term we use here -- I add it to everything I paint, except really small projects, like a bottle that I decoupage, which I haven't done in a long time. It helps the paint to flow. I use chalk paint a lot in painting projects, but for my artwork, I use acrylics -- and I add it to that -- but house painters add it to regular wall paint -- it helps to reduce the sign of brush marks and paint rollers -- well, let me see if I can find a manufacturer's website -- this is what I found online: you also can purchase it through Amazon -- FLOETROL® is a latex paint additive to improve flow and levelling of water-based paints. Makes latex paints, primers, stains and textured coatings flow more smoothly. Improves flow to reduce brush and roller marks. Reduces wear and tear on spray guns. Restores luster to faded, weathered fiberglass." Because chalk paint has an acrylic base, I add it and it's like silk -- I know a lot of people do the paint pours -- I've done some, but I like to do the smears better -- you have more control -- I'm pretty sure it's the same as the medium you used with your awesome projects -- I loved it -- see if you can get it there and then give it a try -- and because it's so cost effective it reduces the costs and expands the life of your products -- it comes white, but mixes beautifully with every color I've used -- which are usually reds, blues -- I love turquois -- and Martha Stewart gold -- then when the paintings are completely dry, I put a coating on top called Triple Thick -- it's a great protective and makes it shine -- A project I did and just loved -- I called it the dark side of Jupiter -- was -- I found a bunch of cheap records -- the lps -- at the thrift store and painted on those -- then I used my painters' heat gun and caused the paint to bubble and then cooled it quickly -- it gives it texture -- I bet Lulu would have a blast doing something like that. They do have it on Amazon here -- here's the link: I might order it on Amazon, it costs $10 for the same amount at the hardware store www.amazon.com/FLOOD-PPG-FLD6-04-Floetrol-Additive/dp/B000C029PM/ref=asc_df_B000C029PM/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=167130062341&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17431576112592639356&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9008460&hvtargid=aud-802037562948:pla-314056362402&psc=1

I think Patricia's product is basically a flow medium ( that does basically what it says...helps the paint flow on better) which is great but will not make the stamped/painted images washable unfortunately (as far as I know) xo
