Arthas Destroys Silvermoon & Corrupts Sunwell - All Blood Elf Heritage Cutscenes | WoW Lore

In 8.1, the Blood Elves' Heritage Questline allows you to relive the events of Arthas' Scourge Invasion of Silvermoon. Culminates with the unfortunate destruction of the Sunwell by Kael'thas Sunstrider to prevent further corruption.

Had this one in the works for quite a long, long while now. I had a couple of different ideas on going about this upcoming scenario but in the end I'm happy with the way this turned out. Lots of love went into this one especially! I also think adding the old Sunwell trailer as cutscenes helped to add more context overall.

However, I've liked her character and have hated the randomness Blizz has done to her character up until this video. From the moment I played her in Frozen Throne I knew in the end she had to die, she's too hateful and her undeath is what drives that hatred. It's that hatred that led her to do what she's done thus far, I just hope the writers don't keep fucking up her character but my expectations are low lol

Tyrande barely did anything with the Night Warrior powerup. That night elf questline coming in 8.1 feels humiliating honestly. Especially for a race rooted in 10000+ years of culture. So much potential...

Athelarius technically she did better in the more updated version of that questline but yes, blizzard need to potray *More* of it rather than just saying it. Also, it's worth to note that "Age" means absolutely nothing about the strength of the night elves. Ever since the sundering, The Night Elf literally gave up the *One* thing that made them strong enough to almost conquer the whole word and that is *Magic* . Ever since the sundering, the male went to sleep for druid training while the females just became rangers who just stayed vigil in their forests. They did not hone their skills by fighting different noteworthy enemies. The only other war they fought in between sundering and warcraft 3 was the satyr war which have zero lore behind it other than "It Happened!". For the rest of their 10k years, they live reletively peaceful mate

She still remember the high(born) elves before they left to eastern kingdoms. The high elves are a stark contrast to their nocturnal cousins, the night elves. Embracing the light of the sun and forsaking the night, the high elves are the descendants of the very elves who served Queen Azshara in the time of the Well of Eternity. The kaldorei regard the high elven penchant for using arcane magic as careless, akin to a foolish child playing with fire. The schism that separates the Highborne elves and the night elves is rather ancient, one so ancient that no amount of diplomacy or offerings of peace can soothe the scars of history.

His was the best story ever told in Warcraft, and one of the best in any game anywhere. Metzen came up with it back when he was still in a sort of dark and edgy phase (have you read his poetry for the first Diablo?), and it's resonated with everyone ever since. So the Blizzard story writers keep coming back to it again and again (not to mention trying to retell it with different characters, but never with anything like the quality of the story of Warcraft III). I guess they're kind of stuck trying to repeat that epic success.

Arthas corrupted the sunwell but did not destroy it. Kael had to destroy the sunwell because it was slowly killing the elves due to there connection to it.

Anything is right what blizz says. I remember arthas defeating illidan in TFT (which made no sense at all) then blizzard just said illidan was "toying" around and almost got killed. So expect similar bullshit like that.

Alliance calling high elves arrogant, leaving weak minded Arthas, their own prince on his own to fend off undead. Alliance's own ignorance will bite their own ass, and the elves death was that proof. If Jaina Proudmoore and Uther were willing to be of physical and mental help for him, he would've never became Lich king. He lost everything for trying to protect Alliance, only to be enslaved by corrupted Frostmourne blade. Sylvanas, and all other undead are the proof Alliance even now cannot accept. Not trying to be asshat, since I like both Alliance and Horde, but some of these characters in game have their own actions and conclusions so undermined that they are almost justified to do as they please. Both on Horde's and Alliance's side.
