The game honestly looks so much better... I get that people are upset with Blizz (and I am too) for lying to their players, but at least the game looks quite good now. The 1080p cutscenes are beautiful, and the avatars and models do look quite nice. I just watched the campaign in classic and reforged, back-to-back, and I really do have to disagree with most comments. The visuals were done very nice without straying from the classic experience. There's still some love put into this.

@@johncurry7225 Don't. There's no point. People have gotten so absorbed with their anger towards Blizzard, that they don't care if they're throwing legitimate good work under the bus. Hell I've seen so many interesting lore-friendly callbacks in the models, I know people are wrong when they act like Lemonsky Studio (the outsourced company who did the models) did a cheap and easy job. Cairne's using the Runspear, regular Tauren Chieftain use the Axe of the Chieftain from WoW and tons of others. Too many neat little details to be the work of someone who doesn't care.

How much of a choice he had, if you think about it... Mission must`ve been acomplished at all cost, the fate of entire kingdom was at stake, and all of his friends, half of his men, and his teacher abandoned him whithout suggesting anything as an alternative. He only went truly mad when Frostmourne took over.

@@LightCrasher No, Arthas was already in the wrong for a long time, he should have listened to the Raven Seer and lead his people to Kalimdor and allied with the night elves. Also, being a prince doesn't exempt you from crime of treason or from knowingly refusing a direct order from his father the King. Using those mercenaries and betraying him only made him even more evil as well as lying to his men to force them into a war against royal edict and in the desolate north while having destroyed their only means of going home, not a single tough for his men there. Also in the book when Frostmourn killed Murradin, Arthas almost had a change of heart, he kneeled next to Murradin's corpse and put his hand on him, and then the light began to glow faintly around his hand, but then his gaze fell on the Rune Blade and his soul was lost forever...

Well actually making even a minute of high quality CGI takes lots of money and lots of time. To me the bigger deal was that they didnt properly remake all the INGAME cutscenes like they originally intended to....and thus those really detailed character models are rather wasted now cause the one thing where you could have really taken full advantage of them would have been in cutscenes.

@@xLetalis It's a 17 year old game with modern graphics. The old portraits weren't emotive, they were ridiculous. Each face had like 5 polygons and mouths opened absurdly wide because anything less was a waste of modeling character faces to begin with. Characters stood and turned in the original too. All Reforged did was flip the assets to make things look more modern. I get people are kinda miffed but this was exactly what I was expecting from the outset. Stratholme cutscene was a bitch move though.

Even now Blizzard STILL advertises for this game using promises of features that they've long-since abandoned. That in itself is a severe case of false advertisement and should be enough for consumer protection groups and laws to go after them, imo. On top of that, add the graphical downgrade, the shit-poor performance, the fact that they didn't address a huge number of issues identified during the beta, etc etc, and all this despite delaying the game several times. You don't have to share the disappointment, if you're happy with the game, good for you. No seriously, good for you, you can enjoy it for what it is and be happy with your purchase. But it's a bit ignorant at best and dismissive at worst to say that there's nothing to be disappointed about.

Warcraft 3 is one of my top favorite games of all time, yet I'm not terribly thrilled with this remaster :( I've got performance issues despite my beefy PC, and most of the remastered cutscenes are kind of bland ... Seems I'll be going back to the Witcher 3 quicker than I thought.

I really liked the Arthas arc throughout W3 and up to WoW. In fact, this is a very similar story, as in Darth Vader, but at times more terrible and terrifying than it was in Star Wars. And there are still differences in motivations, etc. But the way the game's writers showed his fall and transformation into a Lich King is worthy of respect.

It looks like only a small handful of cutscenes were actually worked on, with the rest just consisting of the same scenes plastered over with the new models with some slightly changed camera angles. Which goes to show that either resources were diverted elsewhere during development or Blizzard just simply stopped giving a shit early in development.

Actually he is right to some degree killing malganis was badass but only how he stabbed him, it is incomplete and poorly done except those frames. Arthas spinning was bad and how he left the scene was poorly done. The original even with ugly square models gave more dramatisation to the scenes with extra effects

@The Left can't Meme The old portraits had wild expressions because of the lack of polygons. They were made to be expressive and cartoonish because of the limitations at the time. But to have the characters emote that exact same way for much more realistic portraits isn't fitting. The detailed models are the only good things about this game. Blizzard should have followed suit with the rest. It's not like talented terrainers and cutscene makers are lacking in the fanbase, some of them could have been hired for it.

More like alpha. They needed to rework all the character models and cutscenes. Especially facial expressions and cutscene character movements/camera angles. We should congratulate the reforged team though, for their amazing incompetence. Every single thing that they changed made the game worse. It's like telling someone to polish an ornate table, and they managed to turn into an IKEA table.
