ROC gymnast Artur Dalaloyan tore a ligament in his foot just a few months before the Olympics. Before arriving in Tokyo, he had no idea if he would be able to perform on all apparatuses. But his floor routine not only went well, but also gave him a ticket to both the Team and Individual All-Around events. Relive these incredible emotions with Olympics!

@@MrChrismlamorte I think it's because of the clear difference in their bodies. The men tend to be more muscular and their bodies are more "adult" if that makes sense? Gymnastics in women, they are mostly teenagers and they look like it. Small, thin, compact bodies. They're either very slim and "tall" like Liukin or Khorkhina or a little shorter and "stocky" build like Biles or Johnson. You would not see Arthur doing the things the women do, but that's because his body is built for these more explosive movements. Women's gymnastics still has more dance elements and more graceful than mens, which seems more geared toward strength.

@@Inyourlap That's like saying a Frenchman born in China is now Chinese. He may be Chinese by nationality, but he is entirely French by ethnicity. In other words, Arthur may be Russian by nationality--but he is Armenian by ethnicity. You can't change someone's DNA, no matter how hard you try. But yes--if his nationality is Russian, he is Armenian-Russian.

@@llwc9435 Armenian is not an ethnicity. Neither is Russian or French. You mix up ethnicity and citizenship and Artur wasn’t even born in Armenia (a country I love by the way). He’s always claimed to be Russian and has always embraced his Russian nationality. He’s in the Russian team, not in the Armenian team, not in the Moldovan team. That makes him Russian.
