The Angels Take Manhattan is arguably Steven Moffat's worst episode. It's so full of plot holes and contradictions for how the Weeping Angels work that the only reason anybody takes it seriously is because it's Amy and Rory's final appearance. Honestly, they should have officially left in The God Complex and The Wedding of River Song should be their last hurrah. At least in that episode, time was literally collapsing in on itself so the rules didn't apply like they should with the Weeping Angels.

Bryden has already pitched "Doctor Huw" to the BBC: The story of a Welsh country GP whose antique grandfather clock allows him to travel back in time to the "Good Old Days", and solves mysteries in the village, while also tending to his patients and their ailments. Goodnight Sweetheart meets Doctor Finlay meets Midsomer Murders... starring the great Welsh actor... Owen Teale! (Assuming Sheen turns it down)

what I always love about acting on the stage is that I get a script, I learn it, I work with the other actors to make the whole thing come to life, and then I get to perform it multiple times for different audiences and get to see and feel their reaction right there, in time, it's the best!

I grew up literally next door to Arthur's school. Our back yard was separated from Bromsgrove School grounds by a low wall. Trevor Eve was a pupil there too, so that's a really good drama department they have there. Weirdly, I was at school with Trudi Styler, another actress, and a lad called Mark Williams who won an Oxford scholarship and became an actor. Bromsgrove is stuffed with great acting talent. Mark (North Bromsgrove High School) played Arthur's (Bromsgrove School) father in Doctor Who. Years later, Sir Lenny Henry, from nearby Dudley, played a villain in Doctor Who, who gave his birthplace as Bromsgrove

Are you watching the same Rob as me? The interviews are enjoyable, but he frequently makes it about himself. He does give the spotlight back, but he definitely takes it. I don't fault him for doing so, as the kind of person that goes into show business, will have that trait.

I once read that doing mental things like reading or having to constantly think through something is tiring. This is because the mind demands energy like the body does. So when you do mental activities you get tired, hungry and need replenishment as though you had been working with your hands. But if you do, it is very important to know that this is only your mind needing food, not your body so don't get fat.

@hannahk1306

You're in for a treat! He's done quite a broad range of things, but always seems to come across as a lovable uncle. Gavin and Stacey is probably his well-known TV piece - it's a little dated now, but still decent enough. He's also the presenter for the panel show Would I Lie to You and is very entertaining in that role. The two team captains are also comedic actors so the three of them often egg each other on. The interviews are fairly new for him, but really suit his style and personality. Overall, he's one of those people that just seems to pop up all over the place. He's definitely a comedic actor, but in a very natural way and is particularly good at improv which is why I think he thrives as a host.

@hannahk1306
@hannahk1306 Жыл бұрын
@@DanielWright-np3fq Yes definitely, I think it helps that it's a relatively small friendly industry so all of the actors and comedians are friends and will support each other. British TV (and to some extent Australian TV) also seems a lot more real to me than American TV, so that helps bring some good actors in as well (especially as it's less focused on looking "perfect"). It's also pretty easy for them to flit between different mediums here, whereas I feel like all of the TV and film stuff in the US is centred around Hollywood and the big theatre stuff is up in New York.
@DanielWright-np3fq
@DanielWright-np3fq Жыл бұрын
@@hannahk1306 Well said and a spot on analysis. One of the attractive things for me about British and Australian TV is the looser, more relaxed and natural feel of it. Even our most beloved shows here all feel like "processed cheese" and very formulaic, careful to sell the product of the person or project, careful to only lightly offend to appear edgy. It's all so plastic. This is what drew me to British viewing.
@hannahk1306
@hannahk1306 Жыл бұрын
@@DanielWright-np3fq Yes, I know exactly what you mean! We get some American TV over here, but it's my "easy viewing" watches not things that I really look forward to watching. I think another factor is our tighter ad regulations mean that we get more programme to flesh out the story properly. It's one of the reasons that I love BBC dramas: a whole hour of uninterrupted plot every episode. The streaming service BritBox is jointly owned by BBC and ITV (another channel), so it's full of British TV including stuff from their archives if you want to have access our programmes. I've never used it (they also have their own free platforms if you're in UK), so I don't know how much it costs or how quickly stuff gets uploaded there but I've heard good things about it online.

Come on now Arthur, get the story straight - your character didn't exactly just die: he was erased from time so he'd literally never existed; then he wasn't even a real human, but a plastic Roman centurion with a gun for a hand who guarded a box alone for 2000 years; then he got sent back in time by a statue where he got stuck and died before he was born because his wife read his name on a gravestone. It was a *little* more dramatic than just dying over and over again (that's Jack's job).
