If the cult of the spirits of the dead is the human process that creates new gods, it is logical that a strict monotheistic religion as Judaism, in its classical form, makes no mention of the possibility of life after death. Clever way of avoiding the cult of new Gods. (It is what happened in Christianism, by the way.)

Man immediately after death is no different to what he was 5 minutes before. The first thing he realises is that everything in heaven is normal everything is natural. People are in themselves very much the same as they were on Earth but without all the heaviness of the material life . Man begins to realise that many of the old ideas he had were purely men's material conception of Heaven and God.t There is life after death. Isaiah spoke of the life to come. All the prophets did as well as the Pslams. Moses wrote the law. That was the purpose. It’s called progressives revelation. The Bible teaches we gain immortality through Jesus. We are not immortal after we die. Some will gain eternal life others will not.

Kapital is a textbook on economic theory, not a collection of ideals or morals. The very essence of Marx, and the greatness of marxism, is opposing utopianism. The Selfish Gene does not contradict marxism, on the contrary it supports it.

@@radsoconyoutube4074 anyone who thinks a gene is capable of being selfish is an idiot. Only humans know how to be selfish. Genes don't know what selfishness is. They know nothing. You need to have a brain to know anything and genes don't have brains and humans that have brains and don't use them are idiots. That would equate to Dawkins who still believes in Darwinian evolution even though Darwin himself wouldn't if he was alive today knew what we know today. There was never a primordial soup. And there is no mechanism ever to account for Darwinian evolution and there never will because it is impossible. Darwin thought that the first living cell was a simple blob of chemicals able to reproduce and make more complicated cells and evolve into complexity in simple steps. There is no such cell ever on this planet or anywhere else that we know of. The simplest cell is more complex than the workings of a major city. It is irreducibly complex and puts an end to Darwinian evolution. It's like Darwin, dead.

@@radsoconyoutube4074 You're wrong in saying Marx didn't devise a moral system. Read the his Manifesto. The poor (Proletariat) = Good ; The rich (Bourgeoisie) = Evil. This crude moral dichotomy explains all the suffering in the USSR. (It replaced all previous moral values actually).

@@alainborgrave6772 No there are no moralizations in terms of good or evil. People have different interests. Some work for a living, some own what others do for a living. What's good or bad is a matter of perspective. You have completely misunderstood Marx. The post about the selfish gene is another misunderstanding.

With all do respect, this topic seems slightly pointless. I feel like this topic can be summed up in a minute or less. How about some demarcation questions and some Stoicism. You guys haven't done Stoicism yet have you?
