Marilyn needed and deserved someone so good. She needed a man who could be her man and also like this safe father figure to her. I don't think there's nothing wrong with a man being a father figure also. Just a little more work on there part but I do think marilyn was far worth more. She just needed to feel safe, wanted, needed. No body wanted her after they seen she wasn't just the sex icon everyone seen. She was a real live smart women once they all got alone with her. She had demons just like every other person. Its like men got with her thinking she was just happy all the time and perfect. Like this women would be a fun rid life for awhile. Until they realized she was like every other women. Marilyn only new how to make herself appear differently and that's what drew men to her. Men love to want to fix a woman and maybe she new that.

Kelli Garner did an amazing job on playing Marilyn Monroe
@naracharlize3792
@naracharlize3792 2 жыл бұрын
This movie is mostly inaccurate but this part is kind of true only it played out differently. Marilyn actually liked the original script, even if a lot of it was taken from her own life. When they started to film it tho, Miller kept making script changes on the set almost every night. She felt he diluted her character and she resented him for it. He'd hand her new scripts at night to shoot the next day... MM was notoriously perfectionist who needed to rehearse for days and had difficulties remembering lines. All of this drove her to the brink of insanity, her pill intake increased to an alarming amount and I honestly don't think she ever recovered from making this movie. I hate when they call it a "valentines" gift to her. No Arthur was bitch broke it was her gift to him. Also Kelli Garner did a great job, could've done without the breathy voice though.

Arthur Miller was a total jerk. Maybe he did leave his diary open so Marilyn could see it. He was the disappointment not her. He just USEd Marilyn. Lived off her money. He thought his books would be turned into movies due to his association with her. Joe DiMaggio loved her but he was violent and couldn't control his temper.He was not mature.

Well Marilyn had a lot of trauma that needed to be dealt with. Back then they didn't really know how to help healthily. She was a very strong woman throughout tho. Arthur wasn't the person for her. He just was quiet and not really a strong personality to give her the foundation she needed, and she wasn't stable enough to give him what he needed. He kind of seemed a jerk...he was facinationed by her Hollywood image and didn't really see her as a person had been through much and who needed support and reassurance. anyway...they weren't right for each other.
@PhoenixRenata

Arthur Miller was a narcissistic asshole. He didn’t deserve her. He couldn’t even write a decent drama script that magnified her as a phenomenal actress she was, instead he used her for his own fantasies and traumatised her even more.

Um, can anyone understand what this actress is saying? In the first part, it was all sniffling and "emoting". In the next part, it took 3 listens to figure out she was saying "Gaylord". Sounds like "Grehlerd". Good grief, even Mira Sorvino's Polish-accented Marilyn was easier to understand. This series broke no new ground. Tried to make her mother into a bigger deal than she actually was. Well, it was a new angle, I suppose.
