I climbed Arthur's Seat in May 2022. It was a calm, cool day, slightly overcast but dry, and I completed the ascent in about 2 hours. The views from the summit were amazing. I came down the other side near St Anthony's Chapel. It was a great way to enjoy a Sunday stroll :)

Thank you! Enjoy your stay in Edinburgh, what's on your list of things to do?

Thanks for this video! I'm heading to Edinburgh in April and will be hiking Arthur's Seat. I'm coming from Canada with just a carry-on so need to strategize my footwear. Figured my Docs would work; this trail looks quite forgiving compared to what we have to deal with on some of our hikes in British Columbia! Looking forward to the climb.

Oh yes you'll be fine! Even trainers are fine for this. It just gets a bit muddy if its wet but it's certainly not on the same scale as BC! Enjoy your trip top Edinburgh!

There is also Blackford Hill if you want another hike in the centre of town.

Thank you! It’s a pretty quick one. Taking it easy, there & back in 2 hours is easily done!

Hello Tom, Just found your channel am also planning a film about Arthur seat, hiking with a geologist who did her PhD in the area. So the narrative will have a scientific spin. Like you, I also come from a broadcast background. Quite surprised you don’t have as many views as you deserve ! I too was struggling on my channel until I made a film about Everest base camp (260K in a few weeks) We are mercy to the KZbin algorithms and our “ demographic” as white middle aged men 😂 But nonetheless, keep up the good work ! Another subscriber on your list

Hey Kevin, thanks for the note. Appreciate it and always good to connect with fellow broadcast industry colleagues. I had a look at your work and New Earth Films - really impressive. Might you have some time in the next couple of weeks for a chat?

I can only find maps with Color routes. Is this one the "red route"? Is the blue route also good?
@sportstraveltom Жыл бұрын
Every map is different but the very steep one is the last one I do. All 3 routes are good - just depends which one you fancy.
