Everyone, I know y'all are upset about not him crediting taylor swift in his covers in youtube. However, I want to talk about his spotify. Songs that are released on spotify whether it is a cover or not are released as singles. He distributed his cover through distrokid (a music distribution website/company). Distrokid releases covers as singles. In fact, most distribution companies release covers as singles. So, he can't control how it should be credited to Taylor Swift. However, if we see his cover "Crazier", in the song credits you can see "written by Taylor Swift." So, the cover was credited to her. I'm not trying to defend him but I think we should know how music distribution works before getting mad at him in something that he cannot control (in the spotify part at least).

I don't want to argue but I feel like Taylor's right has been violated so I need to speak up. Please do not take it personally, I just want you to know where Swifties are coming from. Maybe, you don't know what we are fighting for and maybe you don't know the story of Taylor Swift fighting for her rights as an artist. We are not letting Mr. Arthur down, actually we appreciate that he finds Taylor as an inspiration but what we are trying to say is that he should use proper credits because Taylor Swift deserve that, after all she has been through. She must be recognized every time someone is using her work because she had made a lot of sacrifiice for that. Yes, this is just a cover but it is not an excuse to give credits to the rightful owner. Think about it, what if there are people who do not know Taylor Swift that will be able to hear this song? They would actually think that this is Mr. Arthur's work. And, you know there is a billion users of youtube out there and not every one of them knows Taylor Swift. Actually, this man has a talent but talent doesn't win you everything. He must establish his character first and be respectful enough to put credits even on spotify. That would mean a lot for Swifties.
