I remember having this mindset when I started getting into fitness. Fitness is such a broad term, everyone is different, different physiologies that make people better at running and better at other things. Claiming running is the number 1 fitness target is ludicrous. Some people can't run, shin splints, knee valgus, bad hips, bad back, flat feet, so they aren't fit? Poor mindset from the tory

I've danced since the age of 2 and am now 24. I also played football for 5 years. When I did both I was dancing 16 hours a week, doing shows, lessons, rehearsals and playing football three times a week as I played for two teams. I am extremely strong and fit, however I could not run a half marathon. I have asthma and long distance runs have always set off my asthma yet football, dance and the gym don't. A bodybuilder likely couldn't do ballet, it doesn't mean either of them is less fit than the other. They use different muscles and different skills and they won't both be able to do the same things or achieve the same things🤷🏻♀️

Regarding the half marathon. I lost my mom to cancer a few years back and was in a bad state. Weighed about 210 pounds. I lost 40 pounds in 5 months and ran a half marathon. I could not run the whole thing not because of endurance. Heart rate was fine, but I wasn’t prepared for the pain my legs would be in. Calves and Achilles were in a BAD state. So it’s harder than you think

i can say that i coach teenage girl rowers, rowing is one of the most physical sports there is and my 17 year old girls are the fastest in history (national record holders) there is no way they could run a half marathon without stopping. they're incredibly fit and elite athletes but all but one cant run for longer than 4km without stopping and that doesn't make them unfit
@violette76003 ай бұрын
Completely agree, I’m also a girl rower and there are different types fitness for different sports, a fit rower and a fit runner are completely different things and have completely different skills and abilities
@nostromo224414 күн бұрын
I did rowing and it's one of the best all round exercise you can do. It's cardio and strain/weight exercise all in one. So not only do you lose fat, but gain muscle. The only downside is that it can be a little boring when doing it alone. I would watch a movie or comedy TV show.

Thought that it should be known that Invisible children(the charity that made Kony 2012) never stole any money( or at least that there is no substantial evidence of it) allthough many individuals who didn't fully understand their goals felt mislead about the way the money was spent. furthermore Jason Russel the founder and guy who was recorded naked in public, was not on drugs nor did he masturbate in public. He was undergoing a pretty extreme pychotic breakdown due to the stess of the criticism that he and his charity were getting.
