Gotta love Conan's loyalty. Artie has almost completely dropped off the map, but he'll still have him on regularly. This story is great, it's really fleshed out in his book "Too Fat to Fish" if anyone still cares about Art.

This is Artie at his finest right here. I love Artie. Yet I’ve never been a fan of his stand up. But listening to him for years tell those stories on stern was him in his element. Artie is best in that type of environment where things just happen naturally. And in my opinion, that’s harder to do on a daily basis then to write an hour set.

After he tells that story about his father - he is clearly a little emotional - then tells that joke to get himself back on track .. "thats the last time I ever went to school" he gets a smile back at 4:01 ... but then watch that smile turn to a depressing frown at 4:03 .... he seems to be looking into the monitors and perhaps sees himself and is disgusted. He has always had horrible self esteem issues ... and maybe some imposter syndrome feelings and maybe he gets a look at himself in the mirror and those feelings crop up. Very sad indeed.
