Artifact of the Week 20240426 - BSA Swimsuits

Summer is right around the corner and soon Scouts across the country will be headed to summer camp looking for time and opportunity at the waterfront or pool. The BSA has always had an interest in aquatic activities and First Aid, Lifesaving, and Swimming were among some of the first Merit Badges required to become an Eagle Scout. It’s time to learn about the history of swimwear and see some official BSA Swimsuits, as well as discover a 1920s program to encourage Scouts to learn to swim.
