Dude, your videos are fantastic. Wish I had this 15 years ago when I was starting. Still learning something from every video. That 12th fret trick is one of the most important fundamentals of guitar IMO, though it requires accurate intonation.

You're a good guitar teacher.

Once you mentioned math I ditched my room while the video was playing and went to the park until it was over, then came back afterwards. I graduated high school with this technique, so I should be able to do artificial harmonics anytime now.

Sir, you save life. If I could only like this a million times then I would. You don't know how happy I am for this video. Thank you so much
@TrevorTowstego5 жыл бұрын
Very cool and useful technique! I think it's also a good idea to practice plucking the string with a finger other than the thumb so that the thumb is free to pluck the lower strings. You can play some really beautiful things by using your thumb to pluck the bass strings while your other fingers play artificial harmonic melodies! This technique is used in classical guitar a fair amount.

Harmonics are like the coolest thing on the guitar in my opinion. So obsessed with learning them.

It’s so strange to me how every player is so different...most seem to find this video super helpful, I watched it twice over and have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about here for 6 n a half mins 😂...i watched another afterwards where a dude just shows what he does with his hands up close, got it immediately. In any case, the 12th fret trick is the beez-neez, thanks man!

I love these, been playing around with them for the last few weeks (since watching Mike Dawes...mindblowing) - I discovered through fiddling that the 7th fret harmonic is duplicated at the 19th fret (on my 14 fret Faith and Taylor, don't know if it's the same on 12 fretters...), which is very convenient for the strumming/picking hand, being so close to where it normally is, and the 5th fret harmonics are duplicated a little way over the sound hole, takes a bit of practise to get that one right each time because there's no fret to mark the spot, but it's a really nifty way to add an unexpected harmonic. Fun times 😁

He guaranteed that i could do it after the end of the video. At first i thought natural and artificial harmonic are the extraordinary techniques for those who mastered the guitar. However, he guaranteed that its possible for me to learn it so early....I gave it a try and it actually worked. Thanks alot man, you are the very first person i saw that explain such technique in the most accurate way! (Ps: Im extremely surprised with the result)
