Kusunoki was actually a cavalry commander IRL, AI missed up real persons and game characters.

When legend Ronny used kusunoki as a city defense commander while he was getting rallied in SOC. I scratched my head. But debuffing is real.

I am actually using Minamoto Boudica to barb right now and I have not entered kvk1 yet. 20% extra experience for Boudica is actually solid, especially when you do not need any investments for that other than some purple stars. Also fun fact: Cao Cao and Sun Jian actually know each other personally and they teamed up together to fight Dong Zhuo, so it is actually a historically accurate pair

Here are 10 different commander pairs in Rise of Kingdoms along with reasons for choosing them: Richard I & Charles Martel Excellent defensive pair due to Richard's healing and Charles' shield. Both have skills that reduce enemy attack, making them formidable in prolonged battles. YSG (Yi Seong-Gye) & El Cid YSG provides powerful area-of-effect damage with his active skill. El Cid's active skill can silence enemy targets, disrupting their ability usage. Genghis Khan & Saladin Strong cavalry pairing with high mobility and damage output. Genghis Khan deals massive damage while Saladin provides additional survivability and march speed. Sun Tzu & Joan of Arc Budget-friendly pair suitable for both early and mid-game stages. Sun Tzu offers AoE damage and crowd control, while Joan provides significant buffs to nearby allies. Constantine & Richard I An excellent combination for reinforcing structures or defending in open field battles. Charles Kusunoki is actually not bad, I’ve been using him in canyon for a while now ( early game ) half way through kvk1 and he performs considerably well! I’ve used him in CoO as well and his performance is pretty good as well. As a tank.

Guan / Scipio seem to have the best synergy in the game. I'm in SOC and currently at 65 million power and I was wrecking 90 million power plus players in duels running this march with just 260k troops. The best thing about it is my Guan is only at 5/1/1/1 😳😅 and he still gets excellent trades primary to Scipio who I have expertised. A few times I even smashed my opponents with significantly less troops than them.
