This is so good, Sean. Well articulated, great examples and I agree with you: education has been yearning for a change from the status quo. This is OUR moment to help educate our students about the tools they will likely be expected to use in the workplace. Rethinking the value proposition of higher education, in particular, reveals we can teach others HOW/HOW NOT and perhaps WHEN/WHEN NOT to use these tools. Excellent job. I wonder what a follow up episode looks like! I really dig your specific examples of how to modify an assignment. Keep ‘em coming 🙌.

Going to present a couple of sessions at the AI conference at UCF later this month, as well as a masterclass and a workshop at next month's OLC conference in DC. How do we grade an assignment that is all about the process and multiple iterations? Perhaps I need to ask Chat GPT for a rubric!!

I've had ChatGPT create rubrics for me! I haven't used any of them but at least they get me started with the process, and that initial 60% is typically the most challenging for me. But your question is valid. I have students write reflections on their processes. Ultimately what I'm teaching them is less how to submit to me a polished product and more about the process of polishing that product. I think the onus is on us as course developers and educators to rephrase our learning outcomes and classroom procedures to reflect the modern tools and strategies that students engage in to demonstrate mastery of course content.

You have been missed. It's great to have your videos! I wonder if you could answer a question from your video about creating Tabs. I loved it so much and have used it in a wide variety of applications. I just discovered I have a problem with the formatting on a phone. What have I done wrong an how can I fix it? Mobile formatting is actually an important issue with the tabbed interaction. I will be looking into that earnestly when I have the change and will create an updated video when I have a solution (that doesn't require Jquery).
