Muscles aren't completely silent. Put your ear to the bottom of your forearm, and then clench your fist really hard, then completely release, then clench again. You can hear this "buzzing" or "rumbling" sound coming and going, which is actually the sound of the muscle fibers contracting. It is, of course, nowhere as loud as this artificial hand, but still, pretty cool that you can hear it.

Their ideal arrangement, perfect length, folds in the right places, symmetry and other similar features are evidence of Allah's existence. This is truly one of the most impressive humanoid inventions I’ve ever seen. I honestly didn’t think hydraulic muscles could be used to mimic realistic movement that well because they contract less than human muscles. I’d be interested to know how precise this arm is compared to its human counterpart. Honestly I’m not sure how humans move their fingers with high precision, I’d imagine we activate both the extensor and flexor muscles with different amounts of force to regulate position and speed. Is something similar possible with this model?

Beautiful work. Great use of hydraulics, rather than following the herd with electric motors. One of the attractive features of hydraulics is that it takes no power to generate constant force, unlike electromechanical actuators. From the sound of it, the pump stops when the motion stops... so the standby power consumption is zero. The fluid muscle actuators are compliant rather than rigid, and are compact enough to fit inside the arm.

@ well, that’s not entirely accurate is it. I’m a mechanical engineer and I’ve gotta say I’m reasonably well versed in this tech. The range of motion on these joints is extremely human like and the pressure the system needs to flex the muscles isn’t as bad as you’d think because, just like in an actual body, multiple lines work together. You can see this in the contraction and expansion and this concept is vital to getting the pressure generation equipment to a reasonable size and weight. With some software/control improvements, which seems well within the scope of this guys skills and of course is easily done with current computers, this may actually become viable. Counting out what could be possible based on the failures of the past is a short sighted approach.

@ Hydraulics are remarkably compact you know? That's one of their benefits. You can use tiny equipment to generate enormous pressures. I see you replaced the scary skull-faced android with an even more scary faceless Squid-Game aesthetic. But thats a very impressive test. Strength is one of the things most prosthetics lack, as well as dexterity, and this seems to have both.

Once you resolve the motor-actuation-rebound effect, for smooth motion, you're at the top off the 'natural' robotics ladder.

Hey I am absolutely blown away by how advanced this arm is! It’s genuinely amazing and you have all done such a great job on it! I’ve been trying to figure something out so if you’re allowed to tell me, could you please let me know if this is hydraulic or electronic? I know there’s a bunch of electro-active polymers out there and I saw you working with some in your earlier videos. I can hear a pump or generator but I’m not sure if that’s for pumping the hydraulic fluid, providing power or potentially coolant or an electrolyte fluid of some kind (I believe some EAPs use that) I fully understand if you’re not allowed to tell me, I know you may be required to keep some things under wraps. I always want to thank you for all the hard work and time you’ve put into this. You’re going to improve so many lives with this technology, I’m sure of it!

When one sees such things, one's admiration for Allah's art of creation increases. Fingers show the perfect art of creation of Almighty Allah. Their ideal arrangement, perfect length, folds in the right places, symmetry and other similar features are evidence of Allah's existence. Hands and fingers could never have "spontaneously" formed without a creator, as evolutionists claim. This is very illogical and nonsense. Everything is evidence of the existence of Allah Almighty. . "Other evidence aside, five fingers are enough for me to believe in the existence of God." - Isaac Newton (Human Nature: An Interdisciplinary Biosocial Perspective, vol. 1, Issues 7-12 (1978), p. 47) "O man! What turns you against your Generous Lord? He created you and perfected you and gave you a beautiful image. He made you the way he wanted." (Holy Quran, 6-8) "He has given you everything you want. If you want to count Allah's blessings, you cannot count them. Indeed, man is very cruel, very ungrateful." (Holy Quran, 14/34)

This is probably the best way to achieve movement because pressure (force) and speed are independent. Am I correct in assuming that all muscles have to run at the same pressure at the moment?
