I admit most Indian media is overly nationalistic. It’s pretty much every country they have a dispute with including the US, UK and Canada when it comes to human rights. So it’s not just China. But this report is not it…. Most Indian media are fairly objective when it comes to Chinas scientific advancements. Sometimes they are the ONLY English speaking source that even talks about it. Nobody would even know China is ahead in Nuclear Fusion if it wasn’t for the Indian online media. If it’s in E gosh it’s international. If it’s in Mandarin or Hindi or French or Spanish, nobody cares. I suppose it’s hard to see objectivity if all you watch is State run media.

The reactor design is not going to create self sustaining fusion. The main issue is that it is extremely difficult to sustain criticality with a toroidal geometry. Way too much surface area for heat loss. A vortex tube reactor would work a lot better. ❤
