Could we, one day, grow/maintain our own skin over a prosthetic.

pretty sure, if I'm not wrong University of Tokyo developed a robotic finger covered in lab grown skin, it doesn't have any receptors but they're working on it.

It s definitely possible. We can already grow basic human parts like cartilages and blood vessels. I think the hurdle is nervous system connection and immune system rejecting anything that not original part of the body. Maybe in 30 or 50 years.

Not like this. You'd need to connect the arm to your brain somehow, but I don't think there's enough knowledge about the brain parts that handle motor functions yet (at least publicly available). If you attach it to your existing arm, the bionic arm would copy those movements. You could probably control the arm by attaching it to something you don't need for movement, such as the muscles that handle facial expressions, the sphincter, the muscle that lifts your peepee a little when you contract it, etc. and practice to coordinate it with arm and finger movements. You'd look like a giant idiot but it would probably work.

Too loud. Also wondering if it can get attached to a harness, or somehow directly attached to the limb, like to the bone, so that one could use the bionic hand to, let's say, hang from a ledge. Also "super light"? Why would you want it light as opposed to the weight of a regular hand?

You know what? I prefer to live in a future where cars are made better. Edit: And I hope we won't live in a scary cyberpunk world. Case in point if we were to end up like Cyberpunk 2077's word where our body parts with our faces and robot technology gets our minds linked or with to many robotic parts that makes us look scary.
