The adventurous ride begins from Delhi to the Lahaul & Spiti valley via Shimla and then back to Manali covering 1975 km. The places in this video are shown in sequence, i.e. from Delhi to Kaza and back to Manali.

Yes ofcourse you can plan for a bike trip to Spiti. Foreigners need an inner line permit to visit Spiti from Kinnaur side or from Manali side.This permit can be obtained from DM office in Shimla and Reckong Peo. If coming from Manali; you can get the permits from DC office at Keylong. Regarding check post, I have passed two check points during my trip. The no. of check posts keep varying time to time depending on the security policies

Hey please tell me how much money I need to visit Spiti Valley using public transport?

I guess you will be travelling via Shimla route. Once you reach Shimla by Volvo Ac or an ordinary HRTC bus and that cost you 500-900. From Shimla, you can break your journey to Narkanda-Sangla-Kalpa-Nako-Tabo-Kaza. Which costs 100 to 500 depending on the stop u choose. You also have the option for a public taxi, running in this route. But for offbeat location/village, you need to hire a private taxi. As the frequency is very less and limited. I met a traveller who used an ordinary public transport and hitchhiking to some places. And spent 3000 as a cost of travel for a 10-day trip.

Jyada farq nhi hai. Riding via Shimla n Kinnaur apko jyada maja ayega. Benefit is you will be acclamatized , and you can cover the beautiful places like Chail, Kufri, Narkanda, Sarahan, Sangla valley, Chitkul, Kalpa, Pooh and Nako. Make a circuit, so that aap sab jagah cover kr sake. Aur jo kharab route milega woh apko between Batal and Gramphu hai and also towards Chandratal hai.

The road to Kaza via Shimla is in good condition. But when you cross Kaza towards Manali/Chandratal the road condition is very bad. But if you take the Kibber-Chicham road from Kaza you'll get some relief only upto 40 km as this stretch is newly constructed. For Hatchback like swift it will be very tough and tiring to get through. Thanks for the comment. Plan for the Shimla route to enter Kaza and exit via Manali so as to get acclimatized in the high altitude. Make sure proper maintenance/service of your bike has been done. And don't forget to carry spare parts/tools in case needed. Cover yourself and the pillion properly to avoid chilled weather, dust and sun tan. U'll get some extreme rough patches. Thanks for the comment. I used GoPro Hero 5. 64 GB will not be enough for your 8-9 day trip (depends on the video resolution and the amount of video you capture). U need to free up the space of your memory card frequently. So do bring your laptop with you for file transfer.

Apart from resolution, the video size also depends on the factors like FPS, FOV, bit rate and enabling Protune. Since the GoPro shots on high bitrate, the memory consumption is high. For video setting: 1080p/ 30fps/ linear/ 45Mbps/ Protune ON, a 64gb card will give a tentative recording time of 2h 40m.
