Artisan Blu by John Varvatos Fragrance / Cologne Review

I've had this for a few days and can honestly say that I think it's amazing. I personally think the scent is more on the unique side and the drydown on my skin is pleasant as well. Got a compliment out of it, and I somehow get 7 to 8 hours out of it. Overall, I'm very happy with it.

I have Artisan Pure, which is amazing.. and I sampled this one (Blu) at Macy's today, and... WOW! I really like this. 3 hours later it is performing well on my skin. Great review, thanks.

I love the scent! It's very fresh and gives off a nice spring/summer vibes. But the issue is, IT DOESN'T LAST; as with all the other fragrances from that house. I'm still waiting for the day when that issue is addresed

I tried this today and I think it is very aquatic and soapy. It smells quite young as well. If you want to smell like a clean 18 year old boy, this would be a great choice.

i absolutely love this juice i get about 4 to 5 hours is not your typical blue aquatic scent to me is more than that it's green and earthy in a good way a change from all the typical blue fragrances nowadays. I'm on vacation in Florida and this juice is shining on me beautifully and the wife love it too, i also brought Atelier Clementine California my all time favorite summer fragrance and can't wait to wear it!!!!!!

I’ve found that if you spray twice over your wrist pulse points you get some longevity out of this one. Varvatos frags are notoriously weaker performers, but if you layer them with just a bit of time in between sprays, they do much better. This one is really fresh, green and unusual. It’s a great casual, daytime scent in warmer weather.

@Redolessence I had a question do you remember Davidoff Good Life Men's cologne that came out back in 1998? It is one of my all time favorite scent's and in my opinion was and still is the best scent Davidoff ever released, and Cool Water has it charm's but let's face it anyone who remembers Good Life nothing Davidoff released outside of that doesn't hold a candle. Yet they stopped making that scent and I just don't understand at all why? Tell me if you remember Davidoff Good Life and if so what did you think of it as a cologne. P.S. I have a 125 ml bottle. It's fresh, citrusy, clean, energizing and blue. Add bergamot to Polo Blue and you have something like Artisan Blu.

I have been on a rampage buying everything John varvatos, I think they are all absolutely top notch scents. Performance can be a little sketchy but the actual fragrances of blu, pure, acqua, vintage, og, black... Honestly I have loved them all and I think they're really underrated

Very good review.I bought this fragrance love the way it smells but its performance is very poor if I didn't buy it from a reputable retailer I would have thought I got a watered down version of this cologne.It wasn't worth the $80.00

I became a fan of John Varvatos fragrances. I did like this one but wasn't my most favorite John Varvatos. I haven't tried Dark Rebel yet but hoping to try it when I go out of town shopping. I had tried other John Varvatos fragrances like original John Varvatos and Vintage which are my favorite so far until I try dark rebel.

I have to admit this, I'm starting to get back into my designer fragrances once again, there seems to be so many good ones these days and the John Varvatos line seem to live up to expectations. The Dark Rebel scent is marvelous, oh, and nots let forget Vintage, just one problem though, I only get about two hours out of them...not good. Apart from that, cant find anything bad to say about JV scents, oh and this is not bad either, growing on me.

I agree completely that this is almost identical to the regular artisan. I sell both at my job and I've noticed that based on the presentation alone, The Blue sells WAY more than the original artisan. It's funny how people can disregard the scent similarities because one bottle is "cooler"

Just got this but this scent to my nose is very green and not really that blue.... This to me is a very bright,aromatic soapy smell that smells like a more modern,less synthetic Sung Homme.

To me artisan blu smells like a soapy clean bar that all my expectations were higher about this flanker but it wasn't first just few minutes keep the strong soapy clean smell second then become a skin scent lasting 3 to 4 hours Max. I will keep it just because is the only fragrance that I have that smell like soapy bar, Use for gym and those moments when you want to give the feeling of a freshly bathed. The other fragrance that I am interesting is artisan pure but I am really afraid about it's smell and performance

Nice review! I have a few JV fragrances as well. I've tested this one in a shop and one word that separates this fragrance from original artisan and acqua is - OZONIC. Yeah, i can feel calone or maybe even floralozone here. For me, its like a mix between artisan and Acqua di Gio) Perfect summer scent!
