I got my Zero Classic L Soft today and I'm very pleased with it! I'm a very high sensitive player no matter the game and I enjoy heavy mice so I have no need for XL and would rather have a lot of stopping power. Using a G703 Lightspeed btw

After year with Artisan FX Hayate Otsu, I've bought Zero as well today and although it seems to be bit slower, it's still very enjoyable with glass feet on G PRO X Superlight :)

@@tinocabral4201 I tried Boardzy’s cleaning method where you spray Clorox spray then wipe it. That seemed to mess up the glide and stopping power then when I tried to clean it normally (to hopefully fix it) it did not help.

I found better way to clean up old mousepads. I used soap and water, like in RJN's method, but instead of soft sponge i found some old used soft/medium teeth brush and carefully washed it up before procedure, and cleaned stains on mousepad, which was previously soaked in soapy water with it. sorry for bad english.

What’s the durability like on the classic, since it doesn’t have stitches edges?

Does the lack of stitched edges on the Classic feel rough or sharp? If so, would you recommend using an arm sleeve with it?

Actually you could say that’s one of the advantages of a Classic Zero: the edges are less noticeable than FX stitched edges. No feeling whatsoever. So if you do play with a sleeve, Classic would be best since you won’t feel the edges like you might with FX. Great point! 👍

As someone who can't stand stitched edges I bought the classic to finally try an artisan pad based on this video and it's fantastic. Really enjoy using it but I think in terms of plush control pads I still prefer the Qinsui 2 pro over the zero classic but it's really nice. Thank you for this video.

What a mad lad!! Haha it’s a great pad, don’t think you can go wrong. It actually took about 10 days total for me to receive mine in Canada, pretty sure people were already thinking about getting their classic pads too at that time. Let me know what you think!

Sorry! I haven’t tried any of the Xraypads yet (mostly because I think most China-made pads are the same, kind of like a GSR or Vaxee PA). I’ve been thinking about these pads and may get to it in the future. I can say that I really prefer Zero over something like the Otsu V2 for example. I like Otsu but just play better with Zero.

Try it! With a soft bristled brush (mine is a horsehair brush specifically), it’s great for removing dirt, dust and any hair. I use this on all my pads even Zero which is a softer material than Hien. I would be more worried about your Hien ruining the brush, given how rough Hien is 😂😂

I just realised I bought the Classic instead of the Fx coming from the Hien. Wanted a more control pad but is there any huge difference between the stopping power between the Fx and Classic? The Classic is def smooth for me compared to the Hien but I never tried the Fx version before.

Hey so there’s actually no difference between stopping power on a Zero Classic and Zero FX. To me, they feel exactly the same. Since you’re coming from the Hien, you might notice that stopping power on any of the Zero pads (Classic or FX) is much better. So you’ll definitely have more control and have a softer surface too on Zero, compared to Hien. I really don’t like Hien even though it’s nice and balanced lol

i recently got a regular artisan zero soft, and it feels kinda fast/slick. im coming from an aqua control plus strata but this just feels a little out of control, good stopping power, but idk. does it just need to break in? or is it just too fast for me

I agree with you it. Zero feels faster than usual control pads. I think the softer texture and low initial friction makes it feel fast, it doesn’t feel muddy like many pads feel like. Doesn’t give you that much feedback either. To me it feels “free” but with lots of control. You might have to get used to it. Artisan quality is way better than most and some people might be new to that. If it’s too fast still, in the end, Zero might not be for you. Give it a chance though.

For me XSOFT is really comfortable, lots of cushioning and padding to rest on. I think Tenz had mentioned XSOFT is a little harder to play with since it’s not as consistent as harder pads, that’s spot on with my feelings. Overall I think XSOFT is perfectly fine.

If you’re able to secure an FX Zero, then why not get that one instead? FX is everybody’s favourite. Classic would be the next best option if you can’t get FX. I think as far as mousepads go, all these mousepads are pretty damn expensive anyway (including shipping and duties). Personally, I think the Classic is still worth it even without the stitched edges - Artisan does not mess around when it comes to quality goods. Even with the Classic you get the same Artisan quality that is apparent in FX series. $4 savings without the stitching seems kinda finicky but at the end of the day you’d own an Artisan Zero. Tough call.

Well based on what i read! Lots of people say the artisan pads last a lot longer! So instead of buying a new pad every 3-6 months, you can have an Artisan pad 1-3 years.

Funny that you mention that, I had an old Zero in 2020 and yes the surface felt rough compared to this new 2021-2022 Zero. I overheard Artisan did not change anything in material but to me the new Zero feel softer and smoother than before.

@@bryann9182 hmm. Not really. I actually feel like these “new” Zeros are faster than older versions. Like they feel softer, smoother and glide faster than older Zeros. That initial push off friction feels effortless with the latest Zeros when before I remember it being slower and more controlled. I don’t mind the latest Zeros though. Feels good to me.

I’ve only used 1 XSOFT (Shidenkai) pad and I don’t really think it’s worth it. I think SOFT Zero would be the best balance. Maybe XSOFT if you really want deep, thick pad but even XSOFT is 4mm, same as SOFT 🤷‍♂️

I actually prefer Zero Classic Soft over any Hien. Haven’t tried Hien Soft specifically but the Hien material is too irritating. Hien is a nice pad though, very balanced. Faster than Zero but not too fast. May depend on what you play but Zero is universally loved. Hien is popular too but I think it’s a little overrated haha.

Personally, I think Large Artisan pads are too small. I play at 1600 dpi also but higher sens too (like 0.45), usually I don’t need larger pads but I feel like I have more “room” with XL. Like more “freedom” of movement with XL you know? Anyway, you can still get Classic in XL if you change your mind hahah

Haha it's actually just a soft bristled horse hair brush I picked up from the pharmacy. I don't really have problems with hair getting stuck but it does a good job keeping the dust off. Hope that helps!
