Definitely Maton's best sounding models to my ear. Australian blackwood is nice, but it's really hard to beat Indian rosewood and sitka as a combo.

Would you say there's much of an acoustic tonal difference between the regular 808 and the 808 with cutaway?

I really enjoy your easy going style and playing when you demo. Would you ever consider doing a series of just pickup vs mic and then any blending etc, for these new Blackwoods and Matons in general. Mic'd up is fine, but I need to hear the pickup and any blend thereof. Thanks.

Thinking of the Messiah Jumbo has a retirement gift to myself! Thoughts on body styles for gigging? I'm a strummer.

The jumbo body size is full, round, and great for strummers who can still manage to get around a slightly larger body. The AP5 Pro from Maton is one of the best acoustic pickup systems in the world, so it'll be perfect for gigs! Sounds like a win/win!

For strumming hardhanded in wide motion, which creates lots of energy, Messiah dreadnought is better choic. Dreadnought body has a wide and thick waist, it can accept lots of energy coming from heavy strumming without breaking the tone. But it can't separate sound frequencies as well as the Jumbo. On the other hand, hardhanded strumming Jumbo in wide motion will cause the tone to break, because the Jumbo body does not require that much strumming energy. Why is that? You don't observe how big is the guitar's body, but observe where the body is the thinnest - THAT tells you how it should be strummed without breaking the tone. Jumbo guitar should be played same as the OM guitar, because the Jumbo guitar's waist is slim. The rest of the big Jumbo body will add presence and 3D feeling to the each note, which the smaller OM guitar body can't. In short: (1) Thick, wide waist(dreadnought guitar = hardhanded, wide motion strumming with lots of energy. (2) Slim waist guitars (OM, Jumbos) = short motion, more rapid strumming.

hello , how do the messiah em100c and em100j differ from each other in terms of the actual guitar playing itself? and for which game are they better suited separately?

Both can do anything but the jumbo is better suited for rhythm guitar and the 808 models are better for picking/fingerpicking/fingerstyle. The bass isn´t as big and there´s more balance across all strings which suits picking.
