@@mind_of_a_darkhorse Yeah, I really like how simple but effective it is.

How do you get the vertical and horizontal tools to stay active at the same time? When I click one, the other goes away.
@ArtisansofVaul3 ай бұрын
@@sebastiandouse In the nSolve bit hit D for the helper menu, then you can use the eye icons to have both showing.

This is amazing, but I really wish you'd use more complicated geometry to showcase these tools. It's like every UV unwrap tutorial uses a cube or a book rather than something more complex like a 1mil poly skull. If you used something that has complicated normals facing all kinds of directions like for example a cylindrical castle wall with window cutouts, how does the offset work then? It's it still the same or do the edges offset incorrectly? What about a tree with knots and holes. Does it offset along the loops properly? I was thinking of buying this tbh because I'd like a smoother operation for offsetting in a way that doesn't distort.

@MonsterJuiced So this tool isn't going to work on crazy complex geometry but as its designed for subD work it's not meant to be that complex as that's generally the point of subD (a less dense mesh subdivided). I will show some workflow using nSolve in the future but I need to establish the basics in videos I can refer back to first 😁

That cant be the only difference between the two offset tools. Why add the nsuite version if it's inferior? It must do something else we dont know about.

I don't think it does.... But Im happy to be shown Im wrong. As I say I think it's there so you can do it without using the bevel tool which then is annoying to have to move back to the "normal" settings. This for me is reason enough to have the tool there as it saves me time an annoyance.
