Hi George it's Mick in the UK. Thank you for playing this one and thanks to Brad for posting. Here is a post that I put on Emily's channel........"Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow goes back to July, 1945, when it was written during a heatwave by writers Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn when they were wishing for cooler conditions in Hollywood, California. The song became a hit in the Autumn (Fall) of that year by Vaughn Monroe with many cover versions since then, most famously by Frank Sinatra in 1950 and Dean Martin in 1959 and again in 1966. Let It Snow is not a Christmas song as such, (it doesn’t even mention Christmas), but it is certainly associated with Christmas. Now for a beautiful cover of Let It Snow, recorded by Emily Linge when she was just twelve years old, and doesn’t she look stunning? Emily gives us a lovely bouncy rhythm on piano, with a beautiful natural vibrato in her voice. At 3.15 in the recording, Emily gives us an enticingly, cheeky smile that is priceless." So, thanks again George. Have a fabulous Christmas. Take care, kind regards, Mick.

Thanks George, I appreciate your review. Em always takes on any song, no matter how short, with all the gusto she has. Her trademark smile warms your heart as much as the fire in the song. To me she’s just a pure joy to watch and Christmas wouldn’t be the same without her music.

Well said Brad, your admiration for Emily and her music is endearing!

Hello George. Merry Christmas. I'll leave comments about the history of the song to Mick & I'll leave the story of Emily's dress to Brad. Emily is just 13 here and her vocals & piano playing give a clue to her metamorphosis into the 'real deal' she has become. I note the obvious happy smiling face of a young girl thinking of Christmas time. Children & Christmas are a true blessing much as Emily has become to most of us. Thanks George for playing this & thanks to Brad for the request.

Actually, she was only 12 here. It was a few weeks before her birthday. Since you mentioned that story, that gift certificate that she bought those dresses with was a gift for her 13th birthday, but it hadn’t happened yet in November when this was recorded. 😊 merry Christmas Melvyn.

@bradtaggart5509 Hello Brad. I didn't tell the story about the dresses in full because it's yours to tell. I see what you mean about when the gift certificate was given. Merry Christmas to you too Brad.

@@melvynjleese51 no worries, I don’t mind at all. I don’t usually make the story publicly known, that’s all. The surprise was at the studio in the first week of November if I remember correctly, and they went shopping the next day.😊 Emily loves her sparkly and glittery dresses. 😉

Merry Christmas to you George and thanks to you and Brad for this. We got a foot of snow last night so let it stop please. Definitely a white Christmas here in Nova Scotia, Canada. Very nice rendition by Emily who has a holiday playlist now of 8 songs on her channel with a couple more floating around the internet. Take care.

We got a little snow a couple days ago, but just cold wind these last few days. I’m at 6000 ft. almost but we’ve had it easy the last couple years as far as snow.

@@bradtaggart5509 Here in the UK it's raining at the moment but we've been forecasted a lot of snow for next week.

This song here goes back to the 40’s I think. I didn’t research it, but just going on the sound and tempo it sounds like something Sammy Kahn might have written, but you’d see his name if it was his. At least you pretty much sang in tune 😅. Dean Martin was a great singer, but not a songwriter I don’t think. You might know a couple of his songs but not realize it’s him singing. He is famous for a couple of them. One is called ‘That’s Amore’. The first lines might sound familiar: “When the moon hits the sky like a big pizza pie, that’s amore.” Another popular hit was ‘Everybody Loves Somebody Sometime’.

Im still trying to improve my singing day by day haha. I might know him but if it’s music from before the 1960s than that starts to get muddy in my head as I’ve maybe heard the songs but don’t know much about singers or songwriters from the older days.
