Artist Spotlight: Juree KIM - The Shape of Time: Korean Art after 1989

Art has the mesmerizing power to document social change.
The artist Juree Kim uses unfired clay that dissolves in water to depict how entire cityscapes can be deconstructed. Kim experienced urban redevelopment firsthand, when a neighborhood where the artist’s studio was once located changed around 2008.
For The Shape of Time, Kim’s site-specific instillation pays homage to anyone who’s been affected by gentrification.
