You can add American floetrol to extend your drying time. Very cost effective. Works very well. Slow drying time and to decrease brush marks.

depends on what you are doing but usually to just keep the paint wet a little longer just around 20% glaze :)

Hello Mrs. Fergeson, I wanted to go for a red Asian lower wall and use the fish scale faux roller in a 24 K gold on top. Is there any way to do this with slathering the whole wall with gold and just dip the roller into gold and use it that way? I guess use the positive application?

The Red rollers are designed to roll through a wet medium, but we have created a Converter Bar that will allow the red rollers to work on the Stamping roller handle - this way you can just roll the design onto the wall.

How often do you have to clean the rubber decorative roller if your using it all day, like on a house.?

I usually have at least three rollers going, but I wash after about 2 to 3 passes
@myreadingmapped

Note that the density of the negative image changes as she rolls down the wall is stronger at the top and weaker at the bottom. Why? Because the paint builds up on the roller. Also does she have to clean the roller after each pass? Doing only a single narrow strip does not reflect doing an entire wall. I bought the stippled Ostrich paint roller for my driveway and I intend to increase the density by overlapping a second coat and flipping the roller in the other direction to keep it from repeating the same dotted pattern over itself. I may even rotate the path 90 degrees to make it more complex. I also bought a tree bark version and test the same technique. Not sure yet which one I will go with.

Yes, you can clean off the roller after each pass, the first several rolls will be cleaner as the roller keeps picking up paint as you go - but I love the depth and interest it creates with have the different levels. I always suggest making some samples and figure out which technique works best for your project :)

I have a crocodile roller. I want to just have a hint of texture , kinda leathery look..can i do a the same color wall with the positive imprint of the same color paint ?
@ArtisticPaintingStudio
@ArtisticPaintingStudio 4 жыл бұрын
If you are looking for a more random not continuous print, you could roll the same color. But realize that you will barely see this. Also, best way to use the red colors in a positive application is to use a serving tray lined with press-n-seal, brush the paint onto the lined tray and then roll the roller through the wet paint, this way it's only picking up the paint on the raised design. and then roll onto your surface - but this will only go about 12 to 18 inches and then you will have to reload once again. Or you could purchase the Stamping roller handle which has a sponge applicator and you could roll continuously - here is a video to see the process: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZvHpGeOdq9jhbs

You are probably going to want to converter the Cheetah roller over to the Stamping roller handle for this technique - here is another video to watch so you can see what I'm referring to - you will need the Stamping Roller Handle and the Converter Bar - kzbin.info/www/bejne/eZvHpGeOdq9jhbs

How do you get corners when using something like a faux brick?
@ArtisticPaintingStudio
@ArtisticPaintingStudio 3 жыл бұрын
You are going to have to hand paint/create the design or lines to get the to ceiling, but corners actually come out really well - the pattern goes just about to the end of the roller.

Hello Jennifer, I purchased a roller off ebay and a paint holder(which doesn't look like yours) It seems that my roller gets stuck and it drags the image. Is there a place to send you a video/pictures. Wondering if my paint holder is not good or if I should purchase one of your roller. Thank you for your help and hope to hear from you soon... For corners, you can wait when it’s dry and cover some of your roll and only use the end
@ArtisticPaintingStudio
@ArtisticPaintingStudio 5 жыл бұрын
Yes - that could work, but also we just will hand paint in the detail if it seems like something is missing. Most of the time this doesn't seem to bother anyone in the end or you could paint a border around the edges.

@ArtisticPaintingStudio
@ArtisticPaintingStudio 6 жыл бұрын
They can be used on a textured wall, but I would go for a pattern that has the wider details, so that you don't loose too much of the design.

I saw someone take a piece of paper to cover the part of the wall that was already painted and paint over the paper and the remaining part of the wall. Then you wont have to cut your roller up.
