When you said “YOU CAN DO THIS !” My heart felt so full, I have no idea why you give me such good vibes but you really do. I’m not painting a wall or doing any home improvement at all, I’m a 26 yr old female who isn’t even allowed to paint where I live (apartment/landlord rules) so I stumbled across this video out of curiosity and I’m really glad someone like you is on KZbin helping so many people. Bless you, you’re too sweet

As a runner who is training for a marathon, these foam rollers kzbin.infoUgkx9XSsjzA4f84VmhBCHlyhec7XILIxennL are really good for sore and tight muscles. This one is a good size (mine is the purple, 36 inches) not too big but big enough to work and roll both my legs at the same time - I took a photo holding the roller next to me just to provide a better representation of its size. I noticed some reviewers who complained that this is, “just a foam noodle”… and yes, that’s exactly what it is. It’s a high density foam roller. It is absolutely NOT the same consistency/strength/durability/ or texture as a ‘pool noodle’ thought and I disagree entirely with those that say so. As a former collegiate athlete and marathon runner, I’m comfortably giving this roller 5 stars. It’s lightweight and durable and does just what I need it to do at a budget-friendly price. Overall, I have no complaints and am happy with it!

I just used this technique to finish up a drywall project. I am very happy with the results. I usually rent a texture machine. With this technique I have more control and more design options over the end result. Great video. Very well done.

Thank you for the information. I ended up buying the vine pattern for my remodel. I have textured 2 closets that I built so far, and your videos have helped. I'm glad to see we are getting similar results. I hear people saying that texture is out of date, but I really like it and plan to do my whole house, as I'm doing paint and flooring at this time.

Thank you for demonstrating this technique. We just purchased a new home with the crows foot pattern on the ceilings. There’s water damage that needs to be repaired, and the crows foot pattern redone on the repaired portion. Up until your demonstration video, I had no idea how to apply the same texture and pattern on the repaired sections.... Now I do thanks to you & your video...👍😊

Thank you, my friend, for taking the time to make this video! I'm a journeyman plumber by trade so anything out of that realm I'm hesitant about but with great videos like yours I can mud and texture. I used to frame years ago so I'm very familiar with that. With other areas like electrical I can look up pictures, diagrams etc. But mudding is my Achilles heel!! I'm so picky and a perfectionist I probably go through more mud and tape than I should (from redo to trying to get the smoothness I want.) Thanks again! Good luck to all!

This is so helpful!! My husband and I have a stairway that is newly drywalled. We are trying to figure out how to use a hopper to create texture before we paint. Your technique looks far easier. The rest of the house has ugly walls because it is actually a trailer house we turned into a permanent home. We took the slats off the seams between the dry wall panels of the home and tried our best to make a smooth surface. The thin dry wall panels did not match up and there is significant change of the angels of the panels plus gaps between them. I think we could go back over the walls with this technique and cover up a lot of UGLY. Thanks!

Oh my goodness! Leah you are awesome!!! This is as easy as you said. I practiced on a board with premixed joint compound. I put the compound in a paint tray and got the roller saturated. I rolled it on evenly and just eyeballed it for even coverage; it's very forgiving. I took the damp crows foot and rolled it just like you did. I have a 75 year old house and the walls are....well 75 years old. I just saved a fortune by not putting in new drywall. I applied mIne going down a basement stairway and the peaks are kind of sharp and pointy. I just very, very lightly laid a large drywall scraper on it and let the weight of the scraper do the work. I went down it in vertical strips from top to bottom. It snaps off just the pointy parts off but keeps the ridge detail. I just saved a fortune and it is gorgeous! SO happy.

Good video. I did something like that years ago when I took down a popcorn ceiling. I couldn't get a nice smooth finish on the ceiling so just went over it with a long-nap roller and it looked good (something like your initial roll-on with the 1/2" nap roller).

I’ll be attempting to match an existing ceiling texture. I realized pretty quick it was rolled with some consistent pattern. Never knew these existed (neither did HD or Lowe’s). Your video helped me figure out it was the basket weave! I sanded down about two roller widths of old texture (had a small repair). Will do some tests to find right consistency for the mud, but should be able to get pretty close 😮😊

One of the things I always hated about texturing was the spray you have to mask everything off. I've been in construction for quite a few years but texturing was never really things that I got into it was mostly the building in the woodwork. This really made my texture job go well I use the basket weave roller but to add another degree of detail I used a 3/16 v-notched trowel and traube the mud once I got it on the wall then let it sit for a few moments and then roll it with the deal and it added a whole new level of detail it's really nice thank you for your videos!

This will help me tackle a project of 10 years in the making. I have damage walls in my bathroom from wallpaper that the previous owners tried to cover up (the walls had dents and it’s so uneven. I’m guessing that’s why they put wallpaper in the first place). Since I was a previous broke college student, I was not trying to pay a professional so i left it as is until now. It’s time to tackle it while I have time on my hands due to Covid! Many thanks! 💕

Love, love, love watching your how to videos. Thanks so much! I am redoing three bedrooms in a 90 year old farmhouse in southern West Virginia. The walls have layers of wallpaper and paint sandwiched between them. I have removed the top layer of wallpaper (probably installed in the early 1980's) and see lots of damage to the walls beneath (no surprise). I have someone to complete the knockdown portion of this project for me, but I wanted to find out what else I can do to prepare the walls for him to knockdown paint? Should I try to remove more layers or, in your experience, should he be able to complete the texturing on top of the remaining layers of paint and wallpaper on the walls? Again, thanks for your help!

when I bought my house in 85 the basement had unsightly drywall where you could see all types of imperfections even the wood slats that they nailed the drywall to. at that time I bought some kind of mud compound that was already pre-mixed it took lots and lots of pails and I had some kind of a plastic roller that had Loops in it to make a pattern that covered up all the imperfections my basement still looks nice after doing it no cracking or anything after all these years. as always Leah you have fantastic tips
