Katrina's gym leader would actually be really cool. The idea that she's a very unassuming and upbeat for being a dragon gym leader, showing that anyone can like anything they want. And the way she fights is more passive, letting the pokemon act kind of their own while she would be more of a cheerleader that occasionally throws in a suggestion for what they should do next. Even though the pokemon act mostly on their own, with a little direction it's what makes her a powerful gym leader.This would show trainers that sometimes trusting in your pokemon and allowing them to act on their instincts & working together with your pokemon can make your bond stronger and your fighting skills greater. I like the idea that each gym leader teaches you an aspect of what makes a great trainer by having a certain exaggerated trait to how they fight. So honestly a really cool gym leader concept. 😁

It's also great contrast. Because when you look at Lance, Clair, Drake, Drayden and Raihan- they all have the general theme of 'My dragons are big and strong and majestic and so am I'. She joins in neatly with Iris and Drasna. Iris is more of the childish nature of imagination and youth, while Drasna is more matronly and about history. Karina slots in between them, showing a calmness like Drasna but with the passion of Iris. In conclusion it's great all around.

She could give you a item that your pokemon can hold to act on its own to try and replicate what she has built naturally for trainers who aren't there yet (Could be a random selection and every other turn you can increase the chances of a move by selecting it)

Zen Headbutt, Psycho Cut, Heart Stamp + any other super effective STAB moves from dual Psychic mons like Play Rough or Brave Bird. Plus there isnt that many popular single Fighting mons, thus other moves like EQ for Lucarios etc.

@@mjm3091 Yeah, play rough seems to be the way to go. There are 4 non legendary psychic lines that can learn it (though only trough TM), so it isn't uncommon, it is 4 times effective against the gym leader's Pokemon, and it is just a good move. Brave bird isn't actually possible to learn for any psychic type except for mew. I would probably go with Swoobat with acrobatics for flying type coverage and Hatterene with play rough for fairy type. That's not a great set up speed wise, since Hatterene is very much a trick room pokemon, and Swoobat is rather the opposite of that, but both have good enough physical attack to be functional, and with this rule set that's what matters most.

Nathan's gym leader strikes me as a very interesting character. Team is 6 pokemon and very strong, however the older gym leaders think of him as making a mockery. It's an interesting place to be as the 8th gym leader, who a lot of trainers never make it to. Volkner from gen 4, for example, is so bored he wants to quit. But Nathan, he's just so friendly that he's like "some people say I make a mockery of Pokémon battling. That I don't take it seriously enough. But when you think back to it, what was your first battle like? Did you have fun?" *Yes/No box* "Good! That's the way I think all battles should be. If you don't have fun, what's the point? Anyway, enough prattling, adventurer! *Holds out his sword* "You've made it this far! Now let's see what you're made of! Time to test your mettle!"

While watching this video, I had a very dumb idea. A Gym Leader who only uses pokemon that people hate. There are no people in the gym, but you need to fight a metric heckton of Zubats and other pokemon like that before you fight the leader.

I just came up with a new and I believe, interesting challenge concept. First “roll” a 4 sided die. Each set is a direction of the canvas to start the stretch in. 1-North, 2-West, 3-South, 4-East. So you once you have a side to start on, that side will have the widest part of the canvas. And slowly as the character goes to the other side of the canvas, Their figure frees smaller. Like a giant man turns into a very ripped teen. Add whatever other concepts you wish into the characters, like randomizes for what the character is, if you wish. I think a superhero/ Villan oc wold be cool here. But there is a catch. The background stretches the opposite way, in order to have high contrast, I think it would be Hilarious for the oc to be doing the most day to day task you can come up with. Man, I really want to see this video now. I would really get a kick from it. Also, as the wide turns thin, the oc/background gets more detail, cause it is supposed to be a challenge a small spaces are hard to work inside of. I hope you like this idea! Have a good one!

I imagine that the very first interaction you have with her is she asking you to buy some medicine for her because she was too sick, and after that shes like the trainer that is always around when something happens but she's always late. Karina: Hey! xxxx I hear someone was polluting the water, help me give them what they deserve.... ! .... You already defeat them! .... Anyways see you later (something like that) And at the end she is like Elite Four or like the last Gym.

Man, I wish I could play this game. I can picture when you beat Nathan he warns you that "the next gym (Jacob's) is just a bunch of bully's! He even took my sword and hit me with it! ...I mean it's made of foam, but it still hurt...emotionally..." And Jacob's gym having music that sounds like the snapping bad guys do in movies when they approach you in an alley. Also later they're arguing and Karina breaks it up (I picture her being the champion) and makes them be friends. the end. 100/10 would pay 60 dollars to play. P.S. Julia is the professor and she doesn't know anything about Pokemon. "Here, kid, take this and research these poke-monsters for me. If you fill it up I'll give you some pokedollars or whatever."
