people didn't like Ed's cameo, not because we didn't had cameos already, there was Coldplay's drummer on the red wedding, there was the Snow Patrol guy singing Bear and the maiden fair but just passing by, the entire Mastodon band was there in the background of the Hardhome episode, the whole Of Monster and Men were on the episode Arya watches a play about Ned's execution, Sigur Ros were musician on Joffrey's wedding...but all those cameos have something in common, those were just background people, people just passing by while Ed was given focus, a straight shoot up to his face while he was singing, that's why it was so hated, it wasn't him on the background, in and out, there was focus on him so people could recognize him (as if people couldn't tell in 2 secons) i DON'T hate the cameo, but it was obvious it was there just to be recognized
