I was turned on to Jon Cleary from the TV series “Treme” when he and his band played in the court yard of the wine bar called Bachanal I was immediately taken by his playing, his style and his way of being. A true fixture of the New Orleans music scene and at this point a senior player in the world of NOLA Piano Professors.

I saw Jon in New Orleans during the Jazzfest playing in a bar in Frenchmans just an upright and his voice. It sounded like a full band! I went to a lot of the jazzfest but Jon in a bar was perfect.
