Just want to say that all of Chris Cozen's books and videos are outstanding. I have them all, and I've also taken a lot of her in-person workshops. She's an excellent self-taught artist who really knows how to teach.

Very good teacher! Absolutely knows her stuff and how to share it in an interesting, entertaining way. So many people seem to forget that it doesn't matter how much you know if you don't make the extra effort to organize your info and put some energy into the presentation.

I saw your stencils on stencil girl products. I came over to You Tube to see if you were on here and here you are! I love these techniques especially on delli paper. Also love the colors. If I stick the delli paper with the paint on it to a art journal page with matte medium. Do you think the paint will move?

Poudre De Perlimpinpin She’s using Bristol paper which is very smooth. Also, the translucent paper she is using we call ‘deli paper’ like what sandwiches are wrapped in. Hers in an unwaxed paper. For me it was more cost effective to buy waxed deli paper and it works fine for my needs.

"Deli paper" meaning parchment paper or was paper or?
@MicheleEngel7 жыл бұрын
Deli paper is not the same as parchment paper. Deli paper is the dry waxed paper used to wrap sandwiches and other foods. It is the paper that lines a basket containing a serving of french fries, for instance. It's thin and almost transparent--like tissue paper but sturdier and doesn't tear as easily. Mixed media artists often use it as a way to add layers to surfaces that are white or clear or already have color or images on them because when this paper is "glued" to the surface underneath (usually using a gel medium, which which is basically acrylic paint without any color and dries transparent) the bottom layer will show through wherever there is no image or color on the deli paper. Some people use Mod Podge as their gel medium but there are many different brands; just search online for "gel medium." Different brands of deli paper can vary slightly in thinness and transparency, also, but all work well. You can buy deli paper at stores like Smart 'n Final (where restaurant supplies are sold) and on Amazon and other online retailers. You might want to check out the comments for different brands of deli paper on Amazon; you'll find some useful feedback from folks using it for art instead of food.

I was expecting a more creative way of using the gelli plate instead of just rolling and printing the dobbs of paint.. Very disappointing!

Please stop looking at yourself in the monitor. It's very distracting. The audience you want to look at is "in the camera".
