Thank you so much, I needed this done for an art class tomorrow....very last minute! It worked amazing and I went as dark as I wanted.

I want to try this on a portrait drawing that I already did my basic outline for. I hope the graphite can withstand it

Walnut ink gives a nice tone, also - .. and fountain-pen inks are worthwhile for variety of toned papers -

That's great! I'll have to try it out.

Is it possible to mask the edges off to create a readymade white border, or is the colour likely to seep underneath?
@cg839711 ай бұрын
It's possible, use masking tape.

What is the name of the device used at 01:20? You seem to be using it to sand the pencil tip?

Please suggest kind of paper and colours for gray tone Single black or blue black or black and white.

Good question! For colors, I would recommend starting with a rather common mixture for grey tones: Ultramarine Blue and Burnt Umber. If that tone is too cool, try adding a little Raw Sienna to the mix. For paper, I like using rag papers, like Rives BFK. Rives BFK also is available in a grey tone, do that might work for you to start with.

Great video ! , I was wondering if I'd do the same thing with acrylic medium on a watercolour (heavyweight) paper , would that serve as the same drawing surface for graphite/charcoal medium or worse ?

What kind of paper, please?

Hot Pressed Watercolor paper (Made of 100% Cotton) Arches Hot Pressed is what I'd suggest but almost any other thick cotton paper will work.

this is probably a much better way of doing it but normally I just use coffee to stain paper haah I'll have to try using watercolours though
