I watched this video and then tried this technique (hooking the legs while on mount position) two days ago in my Krav Maga class when we were doing free grappling and this guy 24 years old and 210 pounds and in shape couldn't push me off for his life and I'm 31 years old and 160-165 pounds. We are both novices, and that was the first time I tried this move too. He got tired and eventually I chocked him. Pretty effective stuff. I want to learn more.
@phtevenmolz50305 жыл бұрын
Outside of technique, it also helps that Krav Maga is horrible system. There's a massive lack of knowledgeable instructors, archaic techniques, and zero actual training. If you're learning Krav Maga in the US (or anywhere other than Isreal), you're wasting your money. Isreali soldiers and former Isreali soldiers have attended classes at some of the best "Krav Maga" schools in the US and nearly died. Not from the sparring. From laughter at the stupidity.

I like the philosophy behind the jujitsu. I like working out, and competitive when Im playing sports. Sometimes people want to challenge me to prove themselves, and This is the perfect Martial art that I can learn.

This looks amazing. Like a total win/win. Get control of the situation without hurting someone or being hurt yourself by being smarter, not stronger. There's a place near me that teaches BJJ. Really excited to learn this!

I honestly love this video and made me want to start jiu jitsu... I was always "scared" of Street fights/self defense, not because I am scared of getting hurt, but because I am scared of hurting others Jiu jitsu also looks pretty fun tbh

Hi guys. I'm having my first BJJ lesson this upcoming Wednesday. I'm 57 years old, in terrible shape, and mostly just want to gain better flexibility and fitness, but I'm very interested in learning some submissions as well. I'll be going to the Gracie academy here in Las Cruces. Wish me luck!

I just started taking jiu jitsu and my very first class I had no fundamentals of hooks and connections so when I rolled i could only rely on brute strength... I learned very very quickly that these hooked and connection skills are absolutely brilliant

Besides the unneeded self (family) worshiping, this was really one of the very few good self defence videos I ever saw on KZbin. Especially starting with the "let ego go" avoid 99% of the fights explanations. The very clear distance and ground position explanations made me subscribe as I will watch more video from this channel. Thank you for the video.

I’m a 42 year old bodybuilder my 21 year old nephew got top mount on me there was no pushing him off, I joined ju jitsu the next day, when I walked into the dojo the back wall said in giant letters, I AM A SHARK THE WORLD IS A OCEAN AND MOST PEOPLE CANT SWIM! 3 years later and I’m now obsessed with ju jitsu feels so good to finally know how to swim. :)

Hi Henry: Amazing Is not enough of a compliment for you taking your time and sharing those basic concepts with us. I did Gracie Jiu-Jitsu in Rio 45 years ago for 4 years and what drove me to do it is exactly what you preached in this video. We learn how to be present and to use the strength or weight of your opponent to your advantage. if you exhaust and win your adversary psychologically , the physical win will come right after. That is the beauty of the Art of delf defence of Jiu-Jitsu.... Thanks again for this incredible video

Man, that opening dialogue...it's awesome! I work with high-risk kids at a middle school, and I give a speech very similar to yours at least a couple times a week! So much knowledge and humility in that! The kids think because I have 2 black belts, was in the military (Army Rangers and 20th SF Grp 3D BN), and was a hand to hand combat instructor for a short time at Benning, that I just want to be a non stop killing machine. Very far from the truth...I try to teach them to use the minimal amount of force necessary to neutralize the threat...you don't need to destroy someone because you don't like what they said. Hopefully we'll get it to sink in to these next gen knuckleheads!

This is 10 free minutes of the most important information you will ever receive. I was very good at standard Shotokan Karate as a 10-13 year-old. When BJJ/Grappling came around, I was like "Everything I know is useless!" This video gave me a basic, fundamental understanding of the mechanics of how BJJ works - granted this is elementary, but even more, it is essential. If you don't get this, then you will be screwed in BJJ. As a middle-aged, dad-bodied guy with a corporate job, I thought my fighting days were over. I was at a Zombie Run, and this bully kept grabbing a young girl. I tried to de-escalate, but this buff dude started making gang sings and yelling "I don't give a Fu** bitch, I'll kick everyone here's ass"! When he got in my face and shoved me, he never knew how he ended up on the ground. He honestly got up and ran away! I am not very strong or tough, so I was like "thank God!!" All of the people around me were like this 45 year-old accounting guy is a badass! I was laughing inside, because I knew it was just fundamental skills winning out over emotion.

I can honestly say that 100% of the fights I’ve had as an adult were not avoidable. I’ve had some kickboxing/BJJ training, so I handled them pretty well, and fortunately haven’t had too many fights. I’m looking at Jiu Jitsu classes for my 6yr old when the virus madness has passed.

You talk about "Connection", in a football game a Hugh lineman had Dionne Sanders right in front of him running backwards, he was about to send him into orbit, when Dionne attached himself to the lineman like a cat the lineman could get a push off.
