My wife was looking over my shoulder. She said “”Omg why is he tattooing his leg like that? And that’s the guy who’s been teaching you?”” 😝 About the time I started to explain the leg you explained it. Lol. She was like ohhh... so he uses his leg as a test spot for his followers damn he is dedicated to teaching people. Lol. I was yup thats one of the reasons why he’s the best and I don’t listen to anyone else.

You should really be learning from a lot of people not just one person, yes of course he’s great but it’s good to see all types of ways different people approach tattooing to keep improving your work. Keep on learning 🤙🏾
@fishnmaster4214 жыл бұрын
KhanArtistDaze is that what an apprentice does? Idk how they do it because I’ve never been one. I did watch a lot of other people actually. I spent weeks watching other people. The good ones were all pretty much teaching the same stuff. And the rest were teaching the wrong way. So out of the ones teaching the right things to do, he was the one that treats people like people and not like he’s a god just because he had ink skills. Some of the other teachers that were good artist that are teaching the same tools he is were all kind of dick heads. So I just stay with him as a teacher now.
@Khanartistdaze4 жыл бұрын
@@fishnmaster421 I’ve never been one either but I’m sure a mentor would tell you to study all the stuff you can, it is understandable though a lot of people in the industry can be cocky as fuck but check out Oliver Ayre if you haven’t already he’s a very good teacher as well

Man, I sit here in my studio at night and I'll start with some ink on myself, do a podcast, flip it to your channel and learn something new. I could always draw in a fairly decent manner, have a lot of ink from the street and from prison and thought, "why not get a machine?" I've learned a lot from you and you're a humble artist that loves the craft. Thanks brother, your work and devotion to the art form is admirable and I greatly appreciate your channel.

Cool video!!! As for types of shading needles us old schoolers used whats called a flat... one line of needles next to each other. Dont know how to use flats and youll slice someone open like a razor blade. There are also the mags you show in the video Staggered rows of needles . Usually two rows, bottom row will be next to each other the second row youll put one needle BETWEEN every two on the first row..These will always have an odd number of needles. The next type of mag will have two rows. The second row of needles being right on top of the needle in the first row..they wont be staggered. This is called a stacked magnum. This needle configuration will be an even number of needles. The staggered mags are USUALLY labeled M1 also called weaved needles. M2 would be a stacked magnum. Rs is a round shader Rl a round liner. Us old schoolers never used Rs or Rl ! They were called tight or loose. Hope this helps someone and i hope my memory is correct. I learned how to tattoo in the 70s in New York when tattooing was strictly forbidden and illegal!! A long time ago, now 60 and still learning. End of rambling.

Hi! Love how you explain things! Thank you! One question though: What is better for colour packing/ solid colour, is it M1, M2 or RM? I understand that RM and M1 are rather for soft blends and not really for tight packed colour and M2 is packing it more solid. Could you please explain the difference? Or is there a technique that I could use with RM/M1 for packing? And hat off for you Sir, for sacrificing your leg for us! 👍

Thank you for your easy tutorial, it really make sense, i just wanna ask, why my first time portrait looks scratchy when shaded I it? You can see the the needles scratches instead of plain and smooth. I'm one your fans, and i did coloring my own skin and it really helps me understand the pain and the packing. 😂 I would like to know how to smoothly the shaded part of the skin be seen after work.
@andyhowden76553 жыл бұрын
Hi not much seems to get said about how deep the needles should go into the skin when shading. Like I'm assuming when doing a brush motion you don't go as deep as when colour packing because how would you control the sweep? Hope this makes sense. All the examples I've see from other channel never seem to address this. Maybe it's me. But my shading is so choppy n patchy and I think it might be this I'm not getting. Thanks!

@ArtSomething4 жыл бұрын
I usually use distilled water during the tattoo. I only use the green soap to clean the excess ink off the skin. SO I guess you could just use water but it may be a bit harder for the water to get the excess ink off the skin.
