For large damage that may be too involved for the upholsterer or otherwise too expensive to replace for the consumer. This method adds leather where it is missing. The stitch and repair material give structure, texture and color and leave the feel and appearance of the original piece.

Usually about 1000F on the heat gun but in the video it looks set less, maybe 750F. You definitely could try ironing first without the compound. I have another method using powdered adhesive too which I will show in the future. Thanks for joining in. Hope this helps.

If you have a minumum for residential calls, bear in mind that this involves two trips and there is a pickup and delivery charge. You may figure two hours on the repair. It could be done on site but I also wanted the luxury of filming it since some were doubting that my previous video shown some years ago to the industry was authentic. This, of course, is the one channel that shows you everything exactly as it is, warts and all. Thanks, Jose.

Holy cow, is all I can say. I had some doubts but as the steps of the repair progressed from one level to the next, I was totally blown away especially by the end of this video. Leather repair is really artwork. And you, sir, have those skills. I kind of wished you had written down all the steps, what products you used, where to buy them, etc. in the description area so that someone like me can have a go at a repair like this. I do, however, have a question. How long does a repair like this hold up to wear and tear over the years?
@a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247
@a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Robert. This is not a DIY channel. Please see your supplier for the products. And as for wear over time, it is impossible to gauge what kind of abuse any repair could be subjected to. The important thing is for the customer to allow at least a week for a total cure of the topcoat. We do know that after that length of time and considering we have used crosslinker, the topcoat is very difficult to remove even with acetone.
