In this video I show you the problem with Arturia when it fails to download and install the VST soft synths from the Arturia V Collection X. This exact same problem also happens when trying to download and install effects from Arturia FX Collection 5. While I don't show a solution to this problem in this video, hopefully the information in the video may help other Arturia users with similar issues. It is also worthing noting that my install of the Arturia Software Centre (ASC) doesn't install all of the files and folders that it is supposed to. I also don't get any requests for permissions from macOS during the installation of the ASC software. The ASC software is basically a download manager specifically for the Arturia VST software synthesizers, such as the V Collection X suit and also their VST effects, such as the FX Collection 5. My Arturia problems are specific to Apple Silicon Mac and ARM processors and I am using an M4 Max MacBook Pro running macOS Sequoia 15.1, the latest version as of doing this video. However, I have also heard of similar Arturia issues and problems on older X86 Mac computers on Intel processors and also X86 Windows computers. HELP & ADVICE FROM ARTURIA TECHNICAL SUPPORT: First, make sure to grant if needed to both the "Arturia Software Center" and to the "Install Helper" the Full Disk Access. Then, please delete the Arturia Software Center preferences file. Here's how on Mac: - Go to this folder : /Library/ArturiaSC/Arturia Software Center/user - Delete the "asc.pref" file And try again to log in with your ASC credentials. If this persists, make sure to first uninstall and reinstall the Arturia Software Center with the steps below: In order to completely uninstall the ASC, please delete the following folders & files: /Applications/Arturia/Arturia Software Center /Library/Arturia/Arturia Software Center /Library/ArturiaSC /Library/LaunchAgents/com.Arturia.ArturiaSoftwareCenterAgent.plist /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.Arturia.InstallHelper.plist /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools/com.Arturia.InstallHelper Once uninstalled, please download / reinstall the Arturia Software Center from the link below: dl.arturia.net/products/asc/soft/Arturia_Software_Center__2_8_2_2787.pkg Once done, open the Arturia Software Center and then just try to proceed with another software install to confirm how it goes. If none of these suggestions have helped, i would suggest you for now as a temporary workaround to disable the "Silent install" option in the Arturia Software Center preferences which should allow you to install your software (but will require you for each install to go through the install steps manually which isn't comfortable indeed): One of the common issues is the Download paused issue. If you're in this situation, make sure to type in your macOS login info in the Install Helper pop-up window. If this doesn't work, please follow these steps: 1) Open your terminal by going first to Applications, and then to the Utilities folder. 2) Then, paste "sudo launchctl load -w /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.Arturia.InstallHelper.plist" in your terminal, and press enter. 3) Enter your User Session/Account password, and press Enter again. Have you tried going to the go menu in the top toolbar when you have finder open and holding option to look in that library folder? Just a thought!
@DavidHarry20 күн бұрын
You don't need to, all the files are in the standard Library folder not the hidden "user" one. Cheers, Dave.

I can't get my presets to show up, the plugin itself works (default sound only) everything else is missing

Wait for Arturia to fully work on the M4 chip. It's early days!

The problem has nothing to do with M4, it's a know issue on all platforms.

@@DavidHarry I've never had that issue on my Mac Mini M1.

I also had problems with the installation of some plugins. the solution for me was to manually completely uninstall the plugin (all paths are listed in the docs on arturias website) and then try again.

As mentioned in the video and with the extra info I had in the video and in the description. I've done a load of manual uninstalls and reinstalls and not managed to get any joy yet. Cheers, Dave.

Hi David, Love your videos, but I have an unrelated question. I’m trying to watch videos/movies from an external flash drive on my iPhone 15PM directly from the flash drive without importing it. I can play it through the ‘Files’ app from the external, but the video playback is very choppy. Is this a read/write speed limitation issue from the flash drive? I’m getting roughly 100mbps write/220mbps read on my flash drive trying to view videos around 1gb videos. Would an external SSD be able to smoothly play videos/movies directly without importing it? I know the USB Gen affects compatibility, but does DRAM make a difference when choosing an external SSD? Also, am I better off buying the SK Hynix Beetle X31 or building the NVME SSD enclosure for my particular use case? I’ll be sure to use your affiliate links if you can advise, thanks.

Hi. What is the flash drive? What are the bitrates of the video files? Does your flash drive support the necessary bandwidth to play the video bitrates, not your speed tests but the published bandwidth of the flash drive. I would look at that first as it may not be necessary to go to the extent of an SSD, you may just need to change to a faster flash drive. If you go to an SSD, then yes, the X31 is a great little drive. Or checkout this video for a different SSD kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3nFnKV8abxkmas Cheers, Dave

@ It’s the Sandisk 256gb Ultra Dual Drive Go, USB 3.2 Gen-1 with up to 400mb/s read speed, so a maximum of 5gbps? The videos are just KZbin videos that are around 720p 30fps, so I think 6-10 bitrate? Would I have any issues smoothly playing back videos directly from an external SSD without importing or am I constrained by the 15PM’s port?
