@@stacksweaver to be honest, I leave it on also on my iPhone. It just uses the location to “remember” where you’re going at that time of the day, week, month and year. For example, when I go to work. After a week or so. It automatically prompts me the directions to work when it’s connecting to CarPlay. It’s a useful feature imo

I disagree on disabling significant locations. It is used for some features to help build context of places you go frequently. This helps with maps, calendar, photos (memories), etc. It is end-to-end encrypted so Apple can’t read it nor a man in the middle. The only reason to disable it imo is if you’re being harassed by someone who has access to your phone.

If your using the 80% battery charging limitation, it turns off optimize battery charging which is designed for full 100% charging. If your privacy conscious and don’t use apple maps etc, it is worth turning it off and saving battery power.

Apple doesn't really have much left to call true innovation. Many of its features are borrowed from Windows and Linux. It seems like their engineers are in 'retirement mode' now, hyping up basic features like tiling and screen mirroring as if they’re something new. I've been using screen mirroring for a long time with third-party apps, and I never felt the need for tiling on either Windows or Linux. The iPhone 16 shouldn't even be released at this point since they lack significant new features to introduce. Since Steve Jobs, Apple has lost its edge as an innovative company and its products have suffered for it.

I hope people don't get the wrong idea and really believe rotating your IP is a security feature. Home network, who's tracking you? Maybe rotate them out. At work? Better hope the dhcp lease time is low, typical is 8 hours for wifi. Someone on the same network doesn't need your IP to track you. Guess they ran outta ideas or had a button leftover they needed to use. They should have made it a Dark Dark Mode button.

Tiling is dead on arrival for many of us - it just doesn't work when you have Spaces turned off. And Spaces MUST be turned off for anyone who does serious work with multiple monitors. Apple is being absolutely ridiculous about their forcing users to use this functionality since other operating systems AND other options - that you say are dead - allow things to work sanely. So no, the third party options are alive and well and will go far into the future since Apple is losing touch with its customer base.

Followed your suggestion to create a vocal shortcut, and now Microphone stays on indefinitely even after disabling the vocal shortcut I created. Be aware, unless you want to have the orange microphone icon on constantly. No way to disable this that I can find at this point. Anyone else have this issue/bug?

SOLVED! If you delete all vocal shortcuts, your microphone will still remain engaged. Add one shortcut, and then turn it off. This will result in the microphone being turned off!

Macintosh. Love the work mate, just updated and love the features. I'd still a sucker for better snap tool as it still allows me to have the rule of thirds (2 thirds on a big app, 1 for like notes or something). It's something that I fell in love with in Windows 11 as it works amazingly well in landscape too. I am noticing that the new software has better clear text in external displays as well

I got the same problem then just found out how to fix it. My touch ID didnt work while it's plugged charging. If you unplug, you could use touch ID again. Hope this helps

Apple said you can use iPhone mirroring if it's in another room, but if you've actually tried it, you shouldn't just blindly repeat it. It's not true - you have to unlock the iPhone before you can use it, and half the time it'll time out. Sometimes it just won't work at all, other times it works perfectly. There doesn't seem to be anyone who knows how to make it work 100% of the time yet, so it's probably one of those things we need to wait for 15.1 for it to be fully realized. I've had it work one or two times, but since then, it hasn't.

If you have a large external monitor, Rectangles is better than the built in Apple tiling options. It offers 1/6ths and 1/3rds and a lot more options. I have a widescreen monitor and frequently have it split 1/3 and 2/3 with my laptop at full screen for something else. Whatever works best for the individual but I wouldn't dismiss Rectangles quite yet!
