I suspect this is partially to make the polybrute sounds available to those who can't afford the larger synths...I kinda wish they did a matrixbrute software as well. I don't have the space for these monsters! My original minibrute is very interesting...it took me some time to warm up to it. But every time I go back and listen to recordings I've made with it, I love it's sounds. Very 3D and warm.

I’m so glad to see these classic synth emulations. Being able to buy a Prophet 5 or a Korg Wavestate, minifreak for 100.00 or less.. I still use hardware for sampling into my sp404mk2 but working in a daw again has been very satisfying. But I think because I used to use just hardware I enjoy the daw more because I still create the same limited environment i.e. I set up templates with only a few select quality vst synths. The problem with daws is that you can get too bogged down with options that can paralyze with indecision.

I've got a Minibrute 2s and this doesn't sound half bad. It's close enoigh thst I don't think I could tell the difference in a track. Thanks for letting me hear it without the slathering of effects Arturia demoed it with. Still feels a bit digital, but considering the extra voices you get and the much smaller desk footprint it's a great deal at its sale price

Thanks for this inspiring video Robin! I have learned a lot from you seeing how you use the midi controllers to interact with the software. Sometimes the battle is knowing where to start. I like how you use knobs on the Keystep for the filter and the less used controls are assigned to the other controller to your right. Is that a eurorack module? And the mouse is in easy reach too. Love your work!

@@MoltenMusicTech I was just about to ask and reference the video at 21:25 when you point to it. I am looking for a good MIDI controller solution that basically turns any of the old synth emulations into something organic that I can control with knobs and sliders. That would be an interesting video to comment on comparing different options and price points. Thanks for the great videos!

Since it's a virtual instrument, it's a good bet the "V" is for "virtual". Also, what is the device to the right of the Surface?

Could be, it’s a real puzzler that we’re unlikely to get to the bottom of. It’s a Midilar midi controller.

That’s sounds great and they’ve done it justice and made it poly which it should have been in the first place I think. Are the FX I think I’m hearing onboard or external . I’ll be curious to hear what minibrute 2 V sounds like if they do it - and again poly thanks. They would have been Roland killers!

A great little synth...thanks for your vid. While real hardware synth guys think I'm nuts, I'd love to see a manufacturer build bespoke controllers that are dedicated to a particular classic synth VST. Sounds crazy I know, but considering how cheap it is to build a midi controller today, I'd love to pull out an inexpensive "synth" and have all the hardware controls at my fingertips. Not unlike the billion-dollar industry that is replica AIrSoft guns, I think there might be a market here.
