This is a good start, i would do some revisions to get the sound but who cares, it has its own beautiful aound. The key to vangelis is expressive playing, microtonal shifting through the aftertouch and unstable osc. I think the arturia is a players synth similar to the cs-80 perhaps not the same sound but a players instrument.

Ahh man, you got a Polybrute! Nice sounds. I was been on the fence about the Polybrute, what are your thoughts??

Hey... can you explain what you mean? You want to use it for what? Use the music/sound as background music for a vid? Just lemme know the intended usage, and I'll get you an answer. Cheers, Jason

Easy on the vibrato.

I like the oscillator visualizers particularly. How would you say it compares to the Yamaha CS-80? I know it's missing 2 voices (6 to the CS-80s 8)- but the effects and layering 'seem' to make up for that. (not to mention the price) Also is the lack of polyaftertouch all that big a deal? A couple of reviews mentioned it - but I never seem to need more than 'aftertouch' vs 'polyphonic'. Why would I want / need polyphonic aftertouch?

The Steiner Filter is definitely in the same vein as CS-80 filter, so able to capture a lot of the same type of sounds... with per-voice modeling (via Voices mod source), you can give offsets to all sorts of parameters, including osc1/2 fine tunings, filter cut/res, and notably envelope ADR timing offsets... that captures a lot of the old school vintage character. I'm with you on polyphonic aftertouch... It is cool for certain types of playing, but honestly, channel aftertouch works great for a great majority of sound designs, and even sounds "more natural" in many cases. I use a trick often where I multiplex Note Number modulation between pressure and LFO, which creates scaled vibrato... the vibrato amount is lower in the low bass section for clarity, and higher in high frequency range... I have another vid (for Prophet Rev2) which discussed this type of technique, for both PWM and Vibrato: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oHOceXppoJiprLM

@@CreativeSpiral - that's pretty spooky - I was researching the Rev2 just last night (trying to determine if ramping up to 16 voices was worth some of the trade-offs I'm seeing compared with the Arturia PB). The Prophet is an insane bit of kit - but - holy yikes - the interface seems daunting to say the least (not to mention the menu diving on the tiniest of tiny OLEDs). The PolyBrute 'seems' more geared for 'play' and saving where you left off (either with quicksave or saving to the patch internally or to their middleware / daw modules). Oh - speaking of, I can't seem to get a straight answer and the PDF manual is a little vague. Are there any open slots for saving sounds or is it overwrite only from over 700 built-ins? And if it's overwrite only - is there a restore to factory presets function? Ty for the previous note btw and looks like I'm subscribing to another syth nerd channel :) (there's quite a lot of them coming up on my radar now),

@@mgabrysSF You can save to the any of the 768 internal memory locations.

@@synriser6742 well, ya - but then that begs 2 questions. First - are you overwriting presets (and how many are there), and two - if you DO overwrite a preset - how do you restore them? (is there a ROM you can retrieve them from?) I've read the manual on this and it's not the clearest (to me anyway). Ty in advance for any feedback / clarity on this.

@@mgabrysSF First i would suggest that you use banks 4 to 8. If I count correct that would be 384 patches. Second: you can use the connect software to Import and export your patches.
