While the movies may have been inspired by the physics, the link between the two is pretty stretched. They had a chance to teach some real physics and opted to lean on magic, because it's more relatable for the audience.

Well, at least it has roots in science. But yes, they did take the story to the limits of plausibility. Blockbuster movies rarely care about reality - too boring!

While I agree it was a stretch, at least it was quite entertaining. (A great actor helped too.) For education, just watch KZbin, there's plenty of it. 🙂 Or The Matrix, Martian, Interstellar, Ghost in the Shell, Tenet for something in the middle.

this is awesome. I watch the MCU just for the physics within. It's actually one of the tools I utilize to make predictions about character development and potential logical paths. There's a few things the MCU does. it not only plays with quantum mechanics but also relativity and deterministic time travel though not right out said. particularly in the Thor movies we see a lot of macroscale examples. such as the Einstein rosenbridge as well as black holes and neutron stars. the connection and mystery is behind how Loki utilizes these mcguffin's to make his story non-linear which gives his dialogue extra meaning. his dialogue seems to hold double entendre at certain parts such as in the first avengers when talking particularly about the tesseract which is the physical embodiment of all space which is needed to make time happen. space-time. how the stones inform each other is scientifically sound as well. power informs space. space informs time, time informs the mind, the mind informs the soul which decides a linear path and creates the perception of reality and the consequences afterward a decision is made. It's actually a really fun series of movies for physicist despite my disagreement with its leaps and which theorhetical lenses they use. particularly with how they interpret schroedingers cat and the inferred perception of the double slit experiment. they talk about how lokis mind is a bag of cats and even hint that Loki is sort of a devil akin to Maxwell's demon and is the physical embodiment of entropy. which also plays into Loki being the embodiment of mischief/disorder. The MCU utilizes so many critical lenses it's insane. many Shakespearean aspects to it that make it truly a masterpiece when all the puzzle pieces come together. I have predictions no one is talking about and have insights I always assumed people would figure out but I still haven't seen talked about on KZbin. If your curious and know the movies I love talking about them. I'm really into connecting the dots in the overarching narrative.

Question about QFT: If QFT is right every particle is a field but when you measure it, it resolves into a small packet of energy but if you try to measure a gravitational field it should resolve into a packet of energy but if that did happen any object in that field would “ lose its orbit” right? Btw brilliant video! Keep up the good work!

Particles are excitations in the field. When measured, it is still part of the field but is localized. QFT does not, however, apply to gravity, because we don't have a quantum theory of gravity, not yet anyway.

@@ArvinAsh yes! And just a very nerd observation that I have made, in Infinity War people asked why Doctor Strange never used the Time Stone on Thanos. I've made a conclusion that it was because Thanos already had the Space Stone so it could render the Time Stone useless? The way I see it, like you explained on the video, the Time Stone controls the flow of time in sections of space. With the Space Stone Thanos could dilate, dilute or expand the properties of time. He could even transport them to a dimension without time (like the Dark Dimension).

But about the comparison with the playground swing: IMHO the swing does not set its frequency according to the external push (except for the first disruption), but its frequency is a function only of Rope length and the child‘s mass. So it really IS a perfect analogy to the time crystal‘s behaviour.

Would it be possible to use time crystal as random access memory of superposition information and convert that information to coherent measured information thereby preventing information dechoherenc? This would create a useful cubit and cubit processor of measured coherent information. Graphine also demonstrates possible perpetual motion capabilities. It would seem to me that there are possible Graphine architectures that could create a random access memory structure that allows superposition information to be converted to measured coherent information. Or can Graphine create its own time and or time energy state?

Very cool! Makes me wonder... If space is quantized (instead of being continuous), could the Universe be one giant time crystal (or a collection of interconnected time crystals) where time is an emergent phenomenon that arises from the crystal's state transitions? Ok, maybe a bit of a stretch, but still fun to ponder. In a way, seems rather similar to Stephen Wolfram's unconventional thoughts about the Universe, that it can be modeled as a network of finite state automata. Hey, maybe an idea for a new video? I don't subscribe to Wolfram's beliefs. However, they are rather interesting.
@edcunion
@edcunion 3 жыл бұрын
Certainly, Wolfram has smaller locally bounded or "contained" computing entities embedded in the larger universal computation without having to resort to infinite multiverses etc. He explains the time dilation twin paradox as a limited computational effect for the near-light speed object/traveler, as an object projecting itself through spacetime, refreshing its reprojected position at some very high frequency or frame rate, uses up most of its computational headroom while maintaiining that accelerated speed, and can't keep up with the time computations, or something to that effect. It seems simpler, and perhaps more elegant, to just say time slows as one accelerates toward light speed as Albert did? Wolfram's got some good observations and points to ponder though, how to explain universal complexity using simple building blocks so to speak?
@bentationfunkiloglio
@bentationfunkiloglio 3 жыл бұрын
@@edcunion Wolfram is certainly talented. The difficulty that I have is his assertion that the Universe is, fundamentally, a hyper-network of computationally irreducible automata. However, when pressed on the success of general relativity and quantum chromodynamics (not computationally irreducible), he claims that these theories can be decomposed further to computationally irreducible systems. I'm paraphrasing here. OK, but... unlike Wolfram's models, general relativity and quantum chromodynamics are predictive. Both theories are used to make large numbers of very detailed predictions, predictions that are subsequently experimentally verified. In contrast, Wolfram builds models that comport with those things that are already known. He then asserts that his models are computationally irreducible. Hence, by definition, they are not predictive. One must let them iteratively evolve over time to discover how they will behave. There's no short cut, no mathematical underpinnings. The problem here, of course, is that he's modeling the Universe! ...so, his computationally irreducible hypernetwork can only be validated by recreating the complexity of everything? I'm not saying that Wolfram's approach is without merit. However, IMHO, it's more of a beautiful work of art than rigorous scientific theory.
@edcunion
@edcunion 3 жыл бұрын
@@bentationfunkiloglio well observed on Wolfram's ideas both unorthodox and fascinating, having space and time as emergent separate entities? Last I'd heard he was seeking to determine the speed of entanglement for his universal theory of physics. He was familiar as a student with the work of von Neumann and apparently knew Feynman personally, who both had ideas on computation/computers. One can see binary code everywhere in 4D spacetime comprising spin, charge, electromagnetism, beta decay, matter, mass, spacetime curvature and entropy, another observer referred to it as the Hegelian dialect, for what it's worth. It's becoming more apparent that electromagnetic forces may be more influentiall on some observed universal phenomena across size scales, as inferred by Nikola Tesla before his wireless power transmission project crashed about 120 years ago. He, a few years later, had the chutzpah to call relativity a crackpot idea!

Fun to listen. But what exactly does a time crystal do? I just do not fully understand being caught in traditional thinking. That it osciĺlates seems fine -- but is it bending time? Is it going back and forth from past to future?

It just oscillates with a fixed periodicity. The idea that time is fixed within the time crystal which may be different than in our world, is speculative. It is not proven.

W in Wilczek is pronounced like V - Wilczek is a Polish word that means a wolf cub or little wolf. So it's Veel-check ;-) . Great video, by the way. Keep them coming, Arvin!

Would time crystals be made that the length of the change can be predicted or is the randomness in every crystal?

Studied mineralogy and kwow the crystals. But i am also interested in astronology and got some fews in the magical relation between happenings and astrology and metaphysical relation, and there must be a timecrystal in the timechronology in the universe. The several timelines consisting a "pointline" of the repeating reaching of the same coordinate of the same planet, this is only one type of a timeline, like in crystals there are also several mirrowaxes and directin repeating lines. There is a metaphysical law: same with same is timespaceless conectet: So cubic crystals are a timespaceless, multidimensional object!! And also over persons are connected timespaceless over same things, talents, while they practise and create and in the horoskop, this degrees with planets are the timeconnection to all times in past and future, where the same planetposition was: this times and this happenings and this people, which born on this planetposition are timespaceless connected are "constant", highsymmetric, in resonance=communication. The communication with a person is a timetrip, because of connecting of 2 timelines consistng on the different birthday and the connection ist the timespaceless resonance= highest symmetrie, like this from a cubic crystal. Another timespacelessline formation which nasa used is the swing by: many planetconjunction it shorten the timetravel. Timeportals are repeating somewhat,somehow on the same point: repeating tones, shamane music repeating metronom, pendel mass production, repeating partys on summer-winter change and the pyramids, stonehange and of malta the moonnode mirrow in water after node cycle. This are monuments relatet to timetravel, ore are some kind of timetravel maschines!!!!!!! Had a kind of timetravel dream last night and after this, see your vidio spontan and now i beleave intuitive, the scientist had succsess with this!!!

What is all about?! Quartz oscillator are cristals that vibrates with some stable frequency and have to be pumped with external energy not matching theirs. So not consider them too under this definition?

Just a thought: The football analogy suggests that the reformation of position is down to the energy invested in making the rules of the game. So by analogy the time crystal's ability to reform is funded by an energy budget supplied when the crystal was created. The mechanism for its storage and access however is yet to be determined.

I don't think the frequency at which a child on a swing oscillates is dependent on the 'push rate' - it's the length of the 'pendulum' and gravitational constant that dictate this. Any self oscillating system depends on positive feedback to provide 'pushes' at its resonant frequency. Or am I missing something?

This is a question about Black Holes - Is it possible we can't see past the event horizon because the time dilation is so slow that it may not be seen until the black hole starts to evaporate?

It is important to understand, that cubic crystals and ball shape objects not belong to only our timespace. This are multidimensional objects, that not acting and reacting in a specific timespace, but other can use them to look in other timespaces, like a telescop, microscop, lenseelements are ballshaped, crystals in chemical analyse equipment. Internet, handy, all crystalbased tools. Repeating the same is a timeportal!! Also "dayroutines" and this makes longliving, because forced the multidimensional=immortal forced the timespaceless not the defines linear time. Portal consists on equal steps. like potal in house, you go up and down and hold in and feel!! Also equals on the contruction of every type of music instruments and the musican activates this portal back and forward. But every talent is in its practising a activation of a portals connected timespaceless this talent is a connection to people and happenings in all timespaces connected with this talent. Talent practising is an construction=symmetrie=multidimensional connection construct and not a onedimensional thing.

Perpetual motion machines can be deemed possible if the supply of energy is almost infinite or happens for like a long time compared to your own lifetime in this Universe, according to your "time span" use of that machine. Energy like neutrinos and cosmic rays, solar power.

I wrote a series of books in 2015 that involved the use of time stones that allow a connection through time to the far past. In the third book I explain the process in the best laymen's terms that I could. I can't believe how much my theory was right on the money. The series is called Legacy Of Ages by R.M. Baxter. the first book The Way To Ejept came out in 2019 and the second one called the Travelers Stone is just waiting for the printers to set the launch date.

Nce to know that arvin ash also watches marvel movies. I would love to see your breakdown of the scifi in the expanse considering it is now in it's final season. Also if you feelupto the challenge can you try and explain how the wormhole appeared in interstellar? I feel this has not been answered yet.
