Arwen's fate - Gandalf goes to Minas Tirith - Aragorn's coronation - Alternative soundtrack - LOTR

I present to you as an exercise in music composition at the picture a completely revisited musical version of Lord of The Rings, mainly focused on the character of Arwen Undomiel in an original mounting made by me of some sequences of the film from Peter Jackson's trilogy inspired by the book of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Some musical themes composed for the movie by Howard Shore have been partialy preserved but entirely re-orchestrated and / or modified by me.
Before anything else, I wanted to say that I made this music with my guts. I cried with my characters, I laughed and lived epic moments with them during all these hard hours of hard work.
The challenges were :
- Create while respecting the musical universe created by Howard Shore a new credible soundtrack alternative,
- Create new themes, fully integrated into the world of the original soundtrack. Six new themes in all have been created in this release
- Perform an original installation of certain sequences of the trilogy to "revisit" the saga, in honoring the character of Arwen Undomiel, but not only ... !
- Try to keep ALL the dialogues and voices, without omitting any, with what it means as technical constraints imposed .
I wish you the best trips to Middle-earth with this video, filled with emotion.

Note 1 : some parts do not include SFX marked. It is a pure artistic choice .

Je vous présente sous la forme d'un exercice de composition de musique à l'image une version musicale entièrement revisitée du Seigneur des Anneaux, principalement concentrée sur le personnage d'Arwen Undomiel, dans un montage original réalisé par mes soins de certaines séquences du film de Peter Jackson, basée sur l'œuvre littéraire de J.R.R. Tolkien.
Certains thèmes musicaux composés par Howard Shore ont été très partiellement conservés mais entièrement réorchestrés et / ou modifiés par mes soins.
Avant toute chose, je tenais à dire que j'ai composé cette musique avec mes tripes. J'ai pleuré avec mes personnages, j'ai ris et vécu des moments épiques avec eux durant toutes ces longues heures de travail passionné passées sur ce travail.
D'autre part, les objectifs de ce travail constituaient un véritable défi personnel que je m'étais lancé et dont j'ai aujourd'hui l'immense bonheur (et honneur) de vous faire partager :
- Créer tout en respectant l'univers musical créé par Howard Shore pour la trilogie une nouvelle bande son de substitution, crédible,
- Créer de nouveaux thèmes, complètement intégrables à l'univers de la bande son originale. Six nouveaux thèmes en tout ont été créés.
- Réaliser un montage entièrement original de certaines séquences de la trilogie, afin de « revisiter » la saga, en mettant à l'honneur le personnage d'Arwen Undomiel, mais pas seulement ...,
- Tenter de conserver TOUS les dialogues et VOIX OFF, sans en omettre un seul, avec tout ce que cela induit en terme de contraintes techniques ... et artistiques.
Je vous souhaite à présent le meilleur et le plus plaisant des voyages en Terre du Milieu.

0:22 Elronds discouraging Arwen and actually getting her to go to Valinor - and withholding his vision of the child - was a good add to the tension & tragedy of the situation. Elrond doesn't seem to believe there's much waiting for mortals after death. The vision of her son Eldarion that brings her back from the road is also beautiful and emotional in a way nothing else in the film is. I'll take that scene over the "Frodo! Sam!" diversity greetings after they awaken, any day. Reforging Narsil has no drama in the book itself. This buildup gives it the weight it actually has in the mythos. And is an even better character scene for Elrond and for Arwen. Tolkien ends the appendices with the death of Arwen. She is the last link to the Noldor and their mission to Middle Earth. Liv Tyler spoke Quenya perfectly, I cannot imagine a better casting for this role. She, Cate Blanchett, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, made these films come to life imho.

There are so many noticeable points over this sequence. First it was the love between Arwen and Aragorn that as much as anything else saved Gondor, and was a cornerstone of Sauron's defeat. Secondly, it shows how divided Elrond was over their relationship. Torn between the selfish love of his daughter, and the possible future she could share with Aragorn, he initially concealed what he had seen from her. It was only when she saw it herself and that she too had the power of foresight, did he realise he could not conceal that possible future from her anymore. And the scene in the tent where Elrond mentioned those that dwell in the mountain, he could tell by Aragorn's reaction that a psychic connection had already been made between Aragorn and the accursed dead. He knew in that moment, that the dead would follow him, and he could truly be king.

Visions she has of Possibilities. The pendant becomes broken, when she sees their son in a future not lost but certain because of her love for him. Because of this love she asks for an alternative, he, her own father, does give her as a father gives, a chance for a future with love for brief momentary love to an Elf is lasting as the touch on her hand from another, as lasting as a descendent for her own line of generations to come. A gift her own father would like to see, with love. . . And, for love.

Howard Shore’s original soundtrack was beautiful and perfect and had individual themes for each character and group that were repeated and mixed according to the plot. The original music is so memorable that listening to this version is disorienting.
