Thanks! I am not sure about the camera! This system uses IP cameras so the camera needs to be able to output what the air module expects to see! Whether you can improve that by using a different one I cannot say, somebody would need to test it!

The range modes actually sets the Wi-Fi package perambulation. Because the connection is two ways the AU waits if the GU receives the data and the preamble basically is the time units wait for feedback. The further you fly the longer signal goes. The longer preamble needed. On the other hand, a long preamble does not allow to reduce the package transit time, even if the GU and the AU are physically close to each other. Which leads to the signal delay. For this reason, you need to choose the mode depending on the planned range of the flight.

GeoFencing, waypoint flying, RTH, various telemetry data conveyed on screen makes this a fully customizable software product. If you can read code, ArduPilot is most impressive. It covers drones, fixed wing, boats, helicopters etc. I would not be surprised if some of its code is employed by Boston Dynamics

Shouldn't be the 5km mode as the 5km and 8km modes have something of a software limit on them to guarantee latency, so they pretty much cut off around that distance! This was in the 24km mode! :)

the distance mode is nothing related to power, is related to WIFI preamble, more preamble means more delay waiting to send an ACK signal. if you know you will be fliying near, then use the lowest preamble mode, if you know you will need to get far, then use apropiate or maximum preamble mode at an ACK delay cost.When the ACK signal isn't receivedthe communication can be considered lost and every packet received after that time is considered garbage.

Hello from Atlanta - I really appreciate your videos on the HM30. I presently use CubePilot HereLink, but I'm thinking of switching over to SIYI products. The MK15 does just about all I want it to do - but the range from the HM30 is a strong factor in it's favor. My question is - what's the best method for manual control when using the HM30? While almost all my mission are automated, there's still always the need for some manual flight control. Can you please speak to the methods you've found to be the most effective? Many thanks!

Hi, well the HM30 can indeed carry a control signal to the model, but I do prefer to have a separate radio for that, which provides a bit more safety. Alternatively you can check out SIYI's new radio systems, like the MK32, which is a radio along with the HD system, and they seem to be doing pretty well!

I took my DJI V1 Goggles with Iflight HD Patch LHCP 5.8GHz Directional Antennas and stock omnis on top. I made it to just 8km before video went out. After returning to home, video did not resume until less than 1.5k. Is that what you meant when you mentioned the video on the SIYI resumed at 14km instead of right over your head?

Thanks! Well... the F405 Wing is still a very good option, and basically the only difference being the smaller servo BEC, meaning you won't be able to power a full sized sedan, and only 1 analogue camera input, which is not a big deal most of the time! Alternatively the H743 is a darn good alternative to the F765, and I think it has more processing capabilities even.

Both packages come with everything you need, I think! Difference is the Fly More Combo has these smaller directional antennas, the cheaper one only has the stick antennas! Both should be good out of the box!

Photo connection? If you follow the SIYI link in the video description, that would take you to the official SIYI Aliexpress listing for the system, and there you will see all optional gear for it, including additional air units! On an HD system there are no longer transmitters and receivers since both air and ground units transmit and receive data!

Yes, DragonLink was used for control! I set the tracker baud rate to 57k, it was 38k by default, SIYI is 57k by default.

For the most part you would need the HDMI output converter! Alternatively... get a VR smartphone box, put your smartphone in there... and you're set!

I've seen guys use their cellphone as tether(Android or Apple), employing a tablet (ipad, etc) to share CPU cycles. And a $35 Huawei 4G /LTE modem mounted within airplane. Comm flow goes as follows: your craft is covered(battery as limitation) by the 4G / LTE network. Say TMobile or Verizon. Your transmitter sends any signals right to the modem. Slick!

Not many, and between the lack of ultra-light air traffic and nobody generally caring about this stuff, since there but a few people in this country flying this way... there no practical limitations, plus... nobody is really being endangered!

@@ArxangelRC I was at first pleased to hear this, then surprised. Before booking my ticket to Bulgaria though, I thought I would check. Sure enough Bulgaria comes under the EASA rules and in fact has stricter local rules (DGCAA) in that maximum height is 50m above the ground for the open category. For the specific category (which requires a RPC licence) it is 120m. Maximum horizontal distance is 500m in all cases without a specific exemption for BVLOS. In addition flying in cloud is specifically banned for all UAVs as it is for all VFR piloted aircraft. So, basically you are breaking every rule in the book. Lol. Of course, no one would ever know, as you say, you fly in remote areas. But, hang on - you've published it on KZbin! And had 23,000 views! You have some big balls my friend. Just in case anyone else decides to use one of these kits, impressive as they are, it might be worth pointing out that if you get caught and prosecuted, it will be a hefty fine, maybe some prison time and an end to your drone flying.

I just did the figuring on price difference between openhd and this system and I'm thinking this would be the best route. Its about the same price range maybe a little more expensive but one has to remember the time it take debugging and getting openhd or Rubyhd working. EZ wifi from my understanding is dead. I could be wrong about that but if I had to go the DIY route I'd go Rubyhd but I won't because I hate sitting on a computer trying to debug software and hardware.

What WINGSHIGH said plus a few more things - this one is plug-n-play, watch my first video on it and you will hear why, I do talk about that! I haven't tried OpenHD until this moment precisely because of the fact you have to go around looking for the right hardware, and what is recommended doesn't really work, so you have to experiment and waste more time and money! When you draw the line... isn't really that much cheaper, and you've wasted a good deal of time! Will probably get to OpenHD... but this one works out of the box with the factory antennas without any guesswork!

A very exciting product. I currently use two different HD systems, neither of which are DJI but rather the Amimon Prosight for proximity flying (which is low latency and 720@60fps), and Skydroid which claims it is long range with 720@30fps. However the Skydroid system at best does about 8km, the video averages 15fps, and the overall latency is very poor and I wouldn’t recommend it for piloting with. The Siyi system has great possibilities, especially for the price, I would like more information with regard to latency and whether this reduces when you limit the range (increase in bit rate by any chance?) of the system. I’m definitely looking forward to you doing more content with this system.

Latency is better at the 5km and 8km modes, but given your 15fps with the current system you have... even at the higher latency the 24km and 40km modes are I think you will be much better off! It is not a race quad system for sure, but for long range flying it is not bad at all!

@@ghostronics-4113 Well... it is one of the systems, I feel like it may be one of the best when you get the hang of it. The system works with IP cameras with an RTSP video feeds, if you are not using a SIYI gimbal, you should adjust IP addresses as needed to get it working. SIYI have an array of cameras, some have x10 zoom, so you should check them out.

Great for those of us not obsessed with a bit of latency...I suppose the next question is, how does it fare when hand tracking the plane and the beam width of those two antennas...I think I would have aimed them out a bit more if hand tracking the model..So, is this system using 2.4g?..🤔🤔🇬🇧

The system is 5.8G, and I have no idea about hand tracking, but I guess if you sit next to the tripod, you could do it, perhaps may even be possible to aim those antennas better than the tracker would, since they are not always strongest right front and centre! :P

Well there is a new app, and apparently the OSD thing happens in the app! I've not installed it yet, but will try it soon! Mavlink gets to the phone and it does all the OSD magic. :)

Not for LR fixedwing it doesn't. 125ms is definitely doable with fixed wing and my guess is with more development on this SIYI system they can probably bring the Latency down to mid 80's or possibly even lower. Its fairly new system and I'm not so sure from my research it's similar to openhd like others are saying. Openhd video isnt near as crisp as this but that's why it has little more latency

These tests are great, but the problem is that they are done at a huge altitude, of course it is not very realistic in real flight I think the maximum altitude should not exceed 300 meters from the ground, but unfortunately we can not see such tests before buying the product. we are often disappointed after a purchase

The tests are at this altitude because when I have to far out, I rely on altitude to get back if I run out of battery! Even at 300 meters in theory distance will be the same so long as there is direct line of sight with the plane! Also... around here I DO NOT have a large and flat enough area to do 18kms and not end up behind a mountain or a hill!

It's impressive but I find myself asking what's the point of long range HD? You can get more range and an acceptable picture that degrades nicely with an analogue setup and you don't NEED HD when you can barely see anything on the ground anyway.... just record it in 4K on a dedicated camera then watch it back later. No need for all this expense and freezing image, just fly through the "snow" of analogue and get the same results. You even said yourself that you wished you'd had the 4K camera onboard to record the clouds - so why bother? Just get a cheap analogue setup, enjoy the live image then watch it back in HD later. Although, it is a nice technical achievement I suppose.

I'm guessing you haven't tried HD FPV. Once you have tried it you'll understand why pilots like it so much. Yes Analog is nice but since I went to HD a rarely fly any of my Analog models especially quads. Quads running HD is insane and the pros on using HD with quads is you can see every little tiny branch that you couldn't with Analog and you'd most definitely crash. I can zip through the wood with HD and not hit a single branch.

@@ChristopherF_1971 I fly a DJI FPV and the video is fantastic but it's used for floating around close-by and actually checking things out... my wings and other aircraft are still on analog... I just don't see the point when this so-called HD video isn't that much clearer than a good analogue setup and you'd end up recording a better quality version anyway to make up for it. Why go through all the trouble when the end result (a poor quality image) is the same as analogue with more limitations on range and image degradation? Except for technical achievement of course - I just don't understand why people are so hyped for it when it doesn't actually give you much more than you already have.

Actually the difference in image quality at distance is quite considerable between the analogue and the HD, however, that may even not be the most important thing, although it is still quite important! With the analogue when chasing clouds I usually have to guess where I am going because the nuances in those clouds are way too delicate for the analogue system to pick them up and transmit to the ground, especially if I am more than 10kms away, whereas the HD system does not suffer from these limitations and you do get to see more - more details, more depth, more colour variation and you do get a better idea where to go exactly! Furthermore, HD is a lot better at ignoring interference than analogue, and it does show! Will publish two screen grabs in just a bit, when I am done replying to comments, and you will see what I mean! Both at 18kms, both with the Duck, both in that flying location, one is using the analogue system the other is the HD one! It is quite the difference!
