I'm from Canada I spent the same amount of time inside I'm afew years older then Jesse. I'm native . first nation whatever they are calling us today. This man tells it like it's is . Heart that what he has . I have the utmost respect for him. He first man to vocalized some of what I experienced after I was released. Or the little things you see that other people don't. He did what he had to do. I don't see colour I see a warrior.

I'm in Alabama so I'm next door to Georgia and I can tell you that in the deep south whites are absolutely preyed upon be it inside or on the streets everyday. A white dude has to be tough and has to go extra hard to earn respect in order to be left alone. I think people have the opposite view of the south. It definitely isn't whites ganging up on blacks. For the record I've grown up in black neighborhoods in a black city. Even went to an all black college for awhile. I'm in no way a racist. However situations arise where race matters to the attackers so therefore race has to matter to you if you want to get through certain situations. White boys are forced to stick together not out of some racist narrative but out of necessity. Like homeboy said, you have to make them respect you if maintaining your dignity matters to you.

This is one of the best interviews you’ve done. I’m a Florida department of corrections nurse I’ve done this 17 years now. At the end of the day it is all about respect this is why I do not have a slick disrespectful attitude with these inmates, I’m firm, fair, and consistent. Am I scared absolutely not to work in a level 6 maximum security prison, where I work is what is also referred to as a CM institution (Closed management). We are outnumbered by inmates by a hundred inmates to one staff member again it’s all about respect the way I look at this if there’s a riot would the inmates let a nurse out of the gate first who’s been respectful and decent or one is arrogant. It’s all about respect that’s all it is.

When I started my time I would be the only white dude on a block, If you didn't stand up your time was real hard or spent in protective custody. After serving about 10 years, I went back to outside court and the roles were reversed. I asked a white dude what happened and he told me the opiate and meth epidemic. If you were white and served time during the crack epidemic and came out still a man, You're a soldier. salute.

I didn't realize how institutionalized until I got close to getting out. I'm from Alabama.. and I'm here to tell you, there is not another prison system in this country more dangerous than the Alabama prison system.. And you say " Anthony how can you know that if you never been" It's simple... Literally every single person I ran with got a sentence . I've been in all the deep south county jails , I video Chat all the time with my Bros behind them walls.. If you ain't ALL THE WAY living like that, your food down here . Them boys are sleeping with swords down here. A knife ain't no weapon down here. Thats like bringing a pistol to an assault rifle fight. Our county jails are worse than most prisons... You better not have any weakness inside of you Had a friend get beat to death on Thanksgiving. Left his " blood on the razor wire".. He had 4 DAYS LEFT to the gate.. they took him out the game.. That's 4 friends ive lost to this system. If you a white dude and go to prison down here , you better be about that action

Good God, y’all put on pants one leg at a time just like we do in Georgia and just like they do in Texas and California or New York just shut up. How would you know if your situation is the worst when you haven’t been to institutions in every state? Unless you got beat and sodomized every day don’t talk like you know what’s the worst

That’s no lie, I worked in the system here in GA for a while. From my point of view like Jesse even said, something happens they end up getting wrath of punishment for something that wasn’t even their fault. I had a house man, best one I had whole time was AB, there isn’t many in GA but nobody f$&ked with him and everyone respected what he said. Again from my point of view, the white guys clicked up out of means of self defense, same for the Hispanic guys. The black gangs were out for extortion and preying on anyone they could.

Some people probably think you're exaggerating but you're not. Mississippi and Louisiana are not nowhere to be playing around ever. If you went to jail in Orleans parish u bout to have to fight a line of dudes to even keep your shoes and not be washing underwear and shit. Them boys literally had guns and. Street liquor. He said something that I always lived by & that was.. “AS LONG AS SOMEONE STANDS UP FOR HIMSELF, I WILL STAND NEXT TO HIM” Another Brother Home & on the Other Side of the Razor Wire, I hope he can live the rest of his life in Peace & Happiness.. 💯 Wishing everyone in the BOTRW Family a Happy & Safe Holiday Season..’🍀

11 life sentences at the age of 19!? So much for White Privilege in the case of MrJames. First ten seconds of him introducing himself I was hooked. Once he said his name was Jesse James, I started smiling 😂🤘🏼 Glad he’s able to see freedom.

@D. Bee umm did U hear the part where he said he had 24 armed robberies. And he won’t reveal how bad they were. And yea privilege has to be how he got away with 24 of them before being caught!!! Imagine how many times the cops where right next to him and didn’t kno he was a violent criminal. And the fact that you question his time and not his crimes let’s me kno you kno nothing about prison sentences. Obviously some of those crimes had to be on the elderly or straight up defenseless citizens

@@MADNEWYORKER914 I appreciate anyone that learns from their mistakes . But for 50 min this dude says “ uh uh my brothers” or “did what I had to do” this man doesn’t tell one story of his or a friend, doesn’t reveal what sect. Of the A.B. he represents, doesn’t even give his real name so he can be fact checked!! And these delusional people in the comments are saying many people need to hear this b.s. !! You don’t get 11 life sentences for j walking or having a gun

One thing we all agree on is... WE NEVER WANT TO GO BACK! NOTHING IS WORTH IT. There is nothing cool about the respect that comes with time! My family suffered. I suffer still. It isn't worth it and that's for sure. White or otherwise, it's horrible!

I appreciate this one, Its good to hear someone that's been through it all and comes out positive. I understand when he said doing 15 is like doing 30, just a few more calendars. Some people might brand this ole head a racist because his affiliations but never knock him until you've been through what he's been through and survived what might make you fold. Hope you are still well Jesse James.

Sometimes you can't tell another's character or loyalty out on the streets. Inside when your put in a situation you intend to discover who those around you truly are about. Out here it's to each his own, and cut throat in order to get there, not so much inside. Everybody ( a majority anyway ) out here are doing them and watching out for only them and theirs. On the inside you only have those who are for you and themselves, and intend to stick together like brothers. One thing we can't forget ,that prison politics change from coast to coast, border to border. Great interview. You can see this cat is old school and was in when prison was all about respect and that in itself varied in all races.. Thanks man
