Defeating those two weaklings is easy for any normal tennis player. Elena Rybakina too much relies on her serve, Aryna Sabalenka too much relies on her physical strength. Mentally both Sabalenka and Rybakina are weak also their serves are inconsistent.

@@jesuslovesmebut8180 Yes, but they played mostly against weak or out of shape opponents. This WTA Finals tournament is proof of that. Jessica Pegula easily destroyed both of them and Rybakina almost lost to even Sakkari and you want to say that Rybakina and Sabalenka are mentally strong tennis players.

Surprised by the result, but have to give Jessica credit for not being intimidated at all. I believe she has now clinched the group, even if she were to lose to Sakkari (unlikely), because she beat both Aryna and Elena already.

This is the exact reason why I like Pegula, but also why rooting for her is so unbelievably frustrating. She has one of the most complete games on tour, and can beat anybody with a decent performance. And yet, I still find myself awaiting the moment in this tournament when her level will inexplicably drop, and it will cost her the title.

I have seen her go toe to toe with a very hard-hitting power player and she just out hit them. That player was not playing bad at all. Jessica has a lot of game, but her game does disappear out of nowhere, it does not make much sense. Here serve could improve for sure, and sometimes she is too content to just be consistent from the back of the court. @@jesuslovesmebut8180

The problem with Sabalenka's screaming is not how LOUD it is. It is how LONG it is. It is a hindrance and intentional gamesmanship when you are STILL screaming when the opponent is hitting the ball. That is ridiculous. The WTA should make a rule that your scream has to stop when the ball crosses over the net onto the opponent's side of the court.

Pegula really contends in a more different level. As a Iga Swiatek fan, I have delivered a huge support to Jessica Pegula in the group stage in order to annihilate the tough adversaries. It is a harder group than the other group in terms of the physical combats. However, Pegula was the competitor who plainly shattered this chain by vanquishing the formidable players. @piqo44
@piqo44 Жыл бұрын
What are stupid comment. Everyone worked hard especially Sabalenka and Swiatek because they both fighting for #1 spot at this tournament. Pegula has nothing here serious to fight for she is very comfortable at WTA 5 spot with 1000 points margin between her and Rybakina nad Vondrusova. Everyone from top 8 is complaining except Gauff and Pegula for simple reason: they both supported idea of WTA Finals at Cancun instead original location in Europe. Firstly its closer to their home and more importantly they both wanted to skip Billie Jean King Cup that is held in Seville, Spain just after WTA Finals. The conditions are awful, the ball is bouncing inconsistently off the court, it's too windy. They build court 2 days before tournament so it wasn't even possible to practice on this court which is totally different compared to training court at hotels.
@partpartdieupark8889
@partpartdieupark8889 Жыл бұрын
Actually, the idea of finals in Ostrava had to be scratched because of Sabalenka , the Czech Republic wouldn't allow the bolsheviks to cross their border! 😂 So the one who's complaining the most is actually the reason for the finals being held in Cancun. Pegula is playing some amazing tennis this year and deserves credit for that! Part of being a good player is the problem solving capacity. Sure, the court here isn't great, but just like with clay or grass you can't always predict how the ball is going to bounce. So if you can adapt to that and find the solution and be reactive, you'll be able to control your game which is exactly what Pegula has been doing the past two matches, so congratulations to her! 🎉
@piqo44
@piqo44 Жыл бұрын
@@partpartdieupark8889 I think there are couple of reasons for moving WTA Finals from Ostrava to Cancun, money is probably biggest one. Regarding game, for me its not surprise that Sabalenka lost. I heard Pegula post-match interview when she explained how she defeated Rybakina. She was just patient waiting for opponent mistakes and consistent all the game. She was simply strongner mentally. This type of conditions when there are so many factors against you (humidity, wind, court) are better for mentally strong players who can accept the fact they can not play their best in such conditions. Sabalenka is perfectionist she gets quickly frustrated when she can not play her best.

That lost can have big implication for Sabalenka. Swiatek to regain #1 afer WTA Finals has to win WTA Finals and Sabalenka can not get to final. Now most likely scenario is Pegula wins group A, Swiatek wins group B and Sabalenka if gets to semifinal will face Swiatek. It means that Swiatek doesn't have to rely on anyone else except herself to get back #1 spot. If Swiatek wins against Gauff, Sabalenka game against Rybakina will be very exciting to watch, I'm very curious how she will handle this type of pressure. She might be either extra motivated or completely paralyzed.

It’s not the coach she is wild she can’t be coached Tursinov left the job and alluded to it. She won’t win many slams like everyone thinks she will because she’s a ball basher. Iga will get back her top ranking she’s more stable and better suited to the top ranking. Coco will eventually topple Saba to the no 2 spot until she’s more competitive with Iga which is fine she’s younger time to grow and improve.

Beat herself she was outplayed keep saying that when the girls have figured her out. She can’t manage those long rallies as evidenced by the US final. She does first strike tennis like Ostapenko. It’s high risk but with a good returner like Coco, Jess here that make her play long rallies the errors pile up and she loses the match.
