@@einarsd4 Wow, for once I agree completely with Einars! :) I saw the huge potential in Polina years ago (not claiming that is very guruish as she was very high-ranked as a junior) and awaited this kind of results already earlier but she has seemed to lack hunger for success and mental strength but both seemed to be pretty much fixed in this tournament. In her game I especially love her backhand - topspin one is a real beauty and she can hit good slices and drop shots too and hides the placing of them pretty well. Even though I have always seen Polina as "easy on the eyes" that's kind of understatement. She has probably the best facial bone structure of all the WTA-players so after she gets rid of slight skin problems she is a true World class beauty. And what a smile at the net with Aryna! 😍

Just not quite enough power going up against Aryna, but then, how many players can match Aryna's power game? Not many.

In the very near future Polina has quite harsh return to ordinary life. She will start Australian Open qualifications tomorrow or on Wednesday (they are behind schedule there) Two years ago she played brilliantly in those qualifications and got through... and then lost to Aussie Wild Card-player at the 1st round! :/

Confidence in women's tennis is almost everything 😂 could've been really 2-0 for Polina. It's a problem when you don't face big challenges like Sabalenka throughout this tour, when the challenge came she wasn't ready until the middle of 2nd set.

I think it’s more of a broadcaster issue they can’t really have a set standard across all courts which doesn’t allow them to increase the quality on center court vs outer courts. ESPN during the grand slams is much better

Polina faltered completely at the end of the 2nd set like her sister usually does and you just CAN'T afford to give a player like Sabalenka an opening. It was game over after that. Успокойтесь уже со своей Полиной. С такой техникой удара наотмашь, выкладываясь плечом, ничего хорошего с рукой не будет. Если не поменяют технику удара, а что тоже может привести к ослаблению ударов в свою очередь, то от постоянных травм будет не уйти.
