Dolly is an American treasure. She is a queen of country music, a tremendous business woman, and probably best of all. A tremendous human. She started a program to donate 1 book a month to any child from birth to 5 yrs old. To promote reading. She owns several businesses. Everyone who works for her. No matter if the work full, or part time. She will pay for them to go to college. Absolutely free.

The Whitney Houston song I Will Always Love You is not Whitney's song, Dolly wrote it and recorded it in 1973 and took it to the top of the charts twice before Whitney did her cover. Fun fact: When Dolly Parton was a young girl, her family was so poor that they didn't wear shoes in the summer but she told her Daddy that one day she'd build something great in those hills where she grew up. And she did! Dollywood! Inspirational person. What a celebrity should be.

This is my part of the world. I live about a hour away. I love Dollywood. It is the cleanest nicest amusement park in USA. Since most of the comments are about Dolly Parton I will only say this. In 2016 a fire burnt the area and killed a bunch and burnt hundreds of homes. She donated $1000 a month to each affected family till they got back on their feet. She gave like $9 million for it. Most of her philanthropic stuff is never public. She does not want recognition she just wants to help. Dolly is true American royalty!

Dolly Parton is a beloved American Icon. She is unfailingly generous to the people of Sevierville and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. She has donated millions of books to promote literacy to the families of the Smokey Mountains. This is my family's favorite vacation spot. Dollywood has the Bald Eagle Sanctuary that cares for injured Bald Eagles who can't be released back into the wild. They have fantastic roller coasters, but the food at Dollywood is worth the trip alone!

Dolly is an amazing human being who has done well by doing good. Almost every project she does benefits others. This park was put into one of the most. economically depressed parts of the US (near where she was born) to benefit her people. Her book program has given away more than 200 million books. And these are real books that kids would want to read not some promotional pamphlet. Read up on her. She is one of the people we should all want to be.

Dolly Parton is the most loved woman in America. Her rags-to-riches story is legendary. You must see her first movie - "9 to 5" - which she starred in with Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. It is a fantastic comedy about 3 women who work for a terrible boss. Dolly wrote and sang the movie's song "9 to 5." Dolly grew up in a tiny house with many siblings in rural Tennessee mountains. They built Dollywood near her childhood home.

For more than a decade I traveled from the west coast to Tennessee to join my extended family in Pigeon Ford for annual family reunions. Dollywood was always a highlight of our trips. The vibe there is slow, casual and very welcoming. There is a tremendous amount of music, delicious food and quaint arts & crafts to browse through. We typically bounced from food booth to food booth. The weather was almost always damp, drizzling and overcast, some years hot & humid and some years raining & cool; always a delightful change from Central CA. I miss being surrounded by all the greenery and laughing people. Tennessee and the Great Smoky Mountains should not be missed.

Jelly: Jelly is made with strained fruit juice. There are no pieces of fruit in jelly. Jam: Jam is made with mashed fruit. Preserves: Preserves have whole fruit or large pieces of fruit. Some fruits such as blackberries or raspberries will not stay whole during the processing so there may not be much difference between raspberry jam and raspberry preserve. Fruit spreads (only fruit): These are 100% fruit with no sugar added. If needed, a sweet fruit juice such as white grape juice or apple juice may be added. Butters: Butters are made from pureed fruit. They are not as sweet as preserves, jams, or jellies but offer a full fruit flavor. Butters tend to be dark because of the exposure to air during the cooking

I’ve been to Dollywood many times. It is located in east Tennessee south of Knoxville. This is your best bet for a theme park. Dolly Parton was raised in this area by parents who were as poor as Job’s turkey. Poverty was a way of life for people living in the Smokey Mountains. When Gatlinburg and Severeville were still quaint little towns that rolled up the sidewalks for the winter, there was a small theme park, Silver Dollar City, that was located in the area. When it came up for sale, Dolly bought it with a vision to make it what it is today. Poverty was still prevalent in the area so Dolly bought a theme park and put her neighbors and relatives to work. There are many exhibits that show what life was like years ago. She also moved her parents house to the park. We’ve taken our grandsons many times and they never tire of the place. DO NOT go during the summer months because it gets hot as blazes. When you leave the Smokey Mountains, head for Nashville and. go to Loves Restaurant-there could be a wait but it’s worth it. When you leave Nashville, go to Memphis. After trying several versions of Memphis BBQ, set your sights on Dallas, Texas. Love your channel! Quit apologizing for your Russian English-most likely the majority of your viewers are not bilingual. L

Note: To anyone that's disabled Dolly has made sure you can enjoy your day by renting out powerchairs for the day for $75 and you can get onto a special car at the train. It's at the end of the train and the disabled load last and they have a ramp, you get onto so you can load. The disabled are the first to unload while everyone else sits still until we were clear.

My parents live in a rural area and are country music fans. In a sense, Dolly Parton saved their lives when she donated $1 million toward the development of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. There weren't any refrigerators where my parents live that reached temperatures cold enough to store the Pfizer vaccine, but the Moderna didn't have to be stored at such low temperatures. My parents did eventually catch COVID, and it was hard on them, but without that vaccine, they would probably have died. Dolly might disagree, but as far as I'm concerned, she is an angel.

I went to Dollywood a few years ago. My daughter and i went on a road trip to hit as many amusement parks that we could in a week. It's located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. Great amusement park owned by Dolly Parton; a great country music great singer and actress, and one of the most down-to-earth, generous, amazing people that exists. American's love Dolly regardless of the genre of music they listen to. Of course she has a huge number of country music awards and is in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Just a few months ago she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She declined it because she's never done rock and roll music, but Americans overwhelmingly convinced her to change her mind, so now she is also in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She said that now she's going to have to make a rock and roll album so she doesn't feel like a fraud. Beautiful, beautiful person, and her amusement park had some really thrilling rides and was a ton of fun. Sadly I missed the Cinnamon Bread when I was there or I would have been all over that. It would be amazing with some apple butter. Dolly has written over 3000 songs. She wrote the song "I will Always Love You" which Whitney Houston famously covered. Most people think that's Whitney's' song but it's actually Dolly's song. She also wrote and performed the song 9 to 5 and starred in the movie by the same name. Fun movie. Check it out.

That’s sort of true. Herschend Family Entertainment (the company that owns Silver Dollar City in Missouri) still owns 50% of Dollywood. However, Dolly Parton basically bailed out the poorly performing park, so she owns the other half. This is obviously the reason for the name change and the park’s current theming. With the Dolly name and her input, the company and Parton have made the park very successful. Now both Silver Dollar City and Dollywood (and Herschend) are top names in the amusement park and attractions industry. I worked in this industry for a decade and knew many people who worked for or had worked for Herschend.

Dolly wrote many many songs and some were covered by other famous singers. Her most famous song is "I will always love you", which Whitney Houston covered, and it was one of the biggest hit songs ever. Dolly also help fund the Modern Covid 19 vaccine. Seriously, in a country where there is virtually no citizen that isn't hated by somebody, she could be the only person in America that everybody loves! She is just a very nice human being and funny too. Her appearance has been a topic of conversation since she came on the scene over 50 years ago. The main topic was her big boobs, big hair, and tons of makeup. She once said with self-deprecating humor that "it takes lots of time and money to look this cheap". You gotta love Dolly!

Dolly is an amazing person! Not a country music fan, but I’ll listen to Dolly. My son received books from her reading program as a child. I worked at Dollywood at few years ago drawing caricatures & doing face painting. Dollywood & Splash Country are definite recommendations, if you’re going into Appalachia.

If you go to Dollywood and Pigeon Forge, you should swing down by Stone Mountain, Northern Georgia. Make sure you hike up the stone Mountain and stay for the fireworks. There is also a train that will take you around the mountain. You can also camp. Call ahead and they will set up a campsite for you or you can stay in a hotel in the park. To avoid the traffic at the front gate, use the back gate in the village of Stone Mountain. While in Atlanta, go the Atlanta's aquarium.

Apple butter is basically cooking down apples until thick. Thicker than apple sauce. You are evaporating all the water and concentrating the flavors. Apples are naturally sweet, so adding a little cinnamon, maybe a little honey as needed, these products are incredible.

I’ve been to Dollywood a good many times. We try to go to Gatlinburg, TN and go to the Smoky Mountains every year. Dollywood is beautiful park. One thing I’ve always loved about it is the fact that it’s nestled right there on the hills with the natural trees and the land and isn’t just a place where there is too much concrete. It makes it a “cooler” (temperature-wise) theme park than others that had hardly any trees and landscaping and had mostly concrete which makes it very hot in the summer. Plus, it’s a “happy place” with all the music everywhere. They have great little shows too!

Dollywood is literally my childhood, I was taken there every single summer by my mom and grandma until I was 18 and even after that I went on my own with friends. Dollywood is by far the my most visited place for me when it comes to recreation. Its nestled in the great Smokey Mountains in the city of pigeon forge TN. It is a must see location along with the other 2 cities that are adjacent, Sevierville TN and Gatlinburg TN. If you do go plan ahead and I suggest planning for at least a week or more, even with that much time you wont be able to do everything!

I live about 30 minutes drive from Dollywood. Go there often, especially in the Fall and at Christmastime. The decorations for both are beautiful 😍 Dollywood has great rides and entertainment shows. But it is also fun just to walk around and look at the attractions, watch the crafts people doing their thing (like watching blown glass creations being made). The best part is all the delicious smells. And oh yes, that cinnamon bread from the Grist mill is a must have every time I go.

When I was a kid in the 1970s, Dolly was a young hot woman who co-hosted a country variety show called the Porter Wagner Show. Then about 1980 she was in a popular movie called “9 to 5” and had a hit song of the same title from the soundtrack, and she just kept getting more famous and iconic along the way from there.

Dolly Parton is a legend and icon, very accomplished singer/songwriter/actress. She is a Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, one of the most prolific singer/songwriters in the world. Penned the song "I will always love you" which she performed herself, and was also a big hit for Whitney Houston, in the early 90's. The song was #1 in almost every country in the world. Her other famous hit songs are JOLENE, Coat of many colors, 9to 5, Here you come again, Islands in the stream, Shattered Image, and so forth. She has starred in many Hollywood movies: 1. Steel Magnolias 2. 9 to 5 3. Rhinestone 4. The best little whorehouse in Texas 5. Straight Talk 6. Joyful Noise 7. A smoky Mountain Christmas 8. Unlikely Angel

And another comment from me - Dollywood decorated the Park differently each season, which makes it fun!! I love it during Halloween and Christmas! Dollywood is in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. You need to go to that area in Tennessee when you come to the U.S. , for sure!!!

Dollywood is in my home state of Tennessee. I'm from Nashville though which is about a 3 hour drive from the mountains of East TN where Dollywood is. I went once on an 8th grade class trip. It was fantastic fun. East TN is beautiful and there's SO much to do there. It's coal country so there's history. There's a national park. Also a huge traditional crafting culture, homemade fudge, salt water taffy, and Southern cooking galore. Depending on the time of year, there's occasionally skiing there too. I've not been back to Dollywood, but I've visited Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg where it's located and stayed in a cabin there. Dolly Parton is a national treasure for her philanthropy. She's also such an accomplished song writer that she was inducted into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame a few years ago despite never actually performing Rock music....and she was so tickled over it, she put together a quick rock album just so she felt like she "deserved" it. :D If you come to America, it's a great place to visit.

Dolly Parton also has two Christmas themed movies that are based on her childhood memories and reveals her style and fashion inspiration. There was a woman in her town who had the reputation of being a prostitute, but Dolly being a little girl only saw how beautiful and glamorous she was. The movies are really good actually and really worth checking out if you're able to.

Dollywood is in north East Tennessee, near Gatlinburg TN, and the Cherokee Indigenous territory over the border in North Carolina. Dollywood is a tad overwhelming for me, Gatlinburg during the right time is less main stream with people, quieter in off season and gorgeous! Cherokee is my favorite, but I am a generational Cherokee through my mom and her mom’s side. That’s beautiful too, if you go check out Unto These Hills, a complete outdoor theater in the middle of the woods. The actors perform the historic beginning of the tribe and it’s fantastic! Tour earlier, the Cherokee village is fabulous too, learn about some of the first inhabitants of this country 😊

Dolly wanted to build a local place for the community in which she grew up. She knew music and entertainment so a country music themed amusement park was a natural choice. There are live musical shows. Dolly sang there often when she was younger, and probably still does. Dolly did what she set out to do and the park and other industries that came to the area means no one in the area has to live in abject poverty as she did.

We went to Dollywood when we vacationed in Tennessee, from Washington State and Chicago. The park was amazing and I honestly enjoyed it more than Disneyland. The park is very well organized and clean, and beautiful! Unfortunately, Dolly wasn't there when we were. Would have loved to have met that amazing lady. And that cinnamon bread is every bit as good as they said it is. I have only been to 26 of the 50 states but Tennessee was definitely one of my favorites.

The cultural difference between the UK cooking and Southern cooking is we will slap you in the face if you insist on cooking, but you can't cook. If you ruin a piece of meat, you better run. (No pressure.) UK people treat cooking like it's chore or a job, but we consider food and cooking one of God's gifts to humanity. Food is supposed to be good. Not edible, not plain, and certainly not awful. Southern people couldn't afford a lot of material luxuries, we were landlocked people living in the American interior in small towns, and tenet plantations, but we could raise livestock, and have insanely diverse gardens, and keep bees, so we had everything we needed regionally to make even preserved foods absolutely luxurious. We didn't have gold or silver, or diamonds, we had coal, and we had hickory nut trees, sugar maple trees, corn, honey, and molasses. So we made lots of fire and lots of food. We made wines, and vinegars, and jams and sauces, we used to select hardwoods to smoke our meats, and barrel our wines to maximizer and preserve good flavor. A lot of that culture didn't go away under prohibition either, moonshining, winemaking, and brewing was such a way of life for the Southern interior that we invented NASCAR racing originally to test if moonshine cars could conceal their cargo and outrun the cops, and it just evolved into NASCAR as a sport. Thumbing our noses at federal authority whenever we feel entitled to do something is not at a historical high point right now, but it's still big part of the 'MAGA' or the 'CRACKER' or 'Red State' culture to this day obviously. The history has more to do with culture than it does with party titles like democrat, or republican, because politics and party affiliation can shift like the wind, but culture is a little more glacial in its shifts.

Andre, while you are reading these comments you may notice a trend. There are words and phrases that keep popping up, things like icon, queen of country music, kind, giving and most of all, National Treasure. Dolly Parton is all of these things and more. And yes, she is probably the most famous and beloved singer/artist in history. Dolly grew up, what we call, dirt poor, I don't mean like a negative cash flow, I mean absolutely impoverished. It was her talent for songwriting that got her introduced to the country music world. But it was a vocals and down home personality that made her famous. And even as she gained fame and fortune, she never forgot her roots or the community that helped raise her. She stayed true to herself and to her God, and now she is loved the world over because of it.

Kettle corn is my favorite! I also wanted to let you know that apple butter is wonderful. It is more popular in the north and more eastern part of the country. Our family would make it each year after picking local apples in Ohio. You boil the apples, mash them add spices, like cinnamon and a touch of cloves and cook it long slow. It is used like a jam on toast.
